Pedro Pascal has been the talk of the town as of late for his role as the Mandalorian in the Disney Plus Star Wars series. The actor has also appeared in Game of Thrones and most recently, played the villain in the latest DC blockbuster, Wonder Woman 1984. And now, the actor is receiving even more attention, as he has been officially cast in the role of Joel Miller in the upcoming HBO live-action adaption of The Last of Us, the award-winning action-adventure title from Sony and Naughty Dog that originally released in 2013 for the PS3.

Considering that the overall plot of The Last of Us and The Mandalorian both involve a man going on a dangerous escort mission, people have already started to compare the upcoming HBO show to The Mandalorian, and one fan has even created some impressive artwork that combines the video game with the Disney series.

Artist/Art Director BossLogic tweeted out the image earlier today and it successfully merges the two worlds of The Mandalorian and The Last of Us. Instead of Joel's face being shown, as it is in the original box art of the remastered version of the game, BossLogic replaced it with the iconic helmet that Din Djarin wears in the Star Wars series. And what seems to be the silliest part of the picture is that Ellie's face has been replaced with the head of Baby Yoda, otherwise known as Grogu.

The Last of Us puts players in the shoes of Joel as he is tasked with escorting a young girl named Ellie to the Fireflies so that they can use her to create a vaccine for the ongoing Cordyceps infection that plagues the world. And on the other side, The Mandalorian tasks Din to rescue 'The Child' and deliver it to safety. Both pieces of media involve the main character getting emotionally connected to the person that they are "escorting," so it's easy to see why a piece of artwork like this makes sense. There are so many similarities here that it's hard not to compare them.

Not only has HBO found its Joel for the production, but fans can also look forward to the role of Ellie being played by Bella Ramsey, best known for her role as Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones.

The Last of Us television show currently has no premiere date, but it will stream exclusively via HBO.
