According to a discovery by the NeoGAF user mocolostrocolos, if a listing on an international version of Amazon's website is any indication of ARMS' release date, then the Nintendo Switch title is set to come out for the console this summer, on June 23, 2017. Since this isn't the first instance of fans finding a potential launch date for the fighting game on the online retailer's website, it's important to take this information with a grain of salt, as the Big N has yet to officially declare a specific time for its availability.
Of course, the supposed June 23 release date listed on the Spanish Amazon page could very well be a placeholder date for ARMS, as the company might be projecting an estimated time frame ahead of an official announcement from Nintendo. Not to mention, the Big N has been touting that it would be putting out the fighting game sometime in the spring of this year, so if the date listed on the Amazon site is correct, then it would mean Nintendo will be delaying the game, which seems unlikely given the Switch's need for new games sooner rather than later.
The most prominent title available for the Nintendo Switch at the moment is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and if the console is meant to have staying power throughout the rest of the year, the company will need to have another solid exclusive release come out soon for support. It would make the most sense for Nintendo to put out ARMS in the spring in order to build more momentum for the Switch's lineup of titles in order to segue more smoothly into the Splatoon 2's launch this summer.
If the release date for ARMS on the international Amazon site is indeed accurate, though, it wouldn't be the first time that Nintendo pushed back one of its titles until the company believed it was ready to hit the market. After all, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was originally supposed to launch solely as a Wii U title before it was revealed that the action-adventure would be delayed until it was ready for a Switch and Wii U release.
Taking all of this into consideration, only time will tell as to exactly when ARMS will be available, as Nintendo seems content to announce the fighting game's release date when its good and ready. Hopefully, though, fans won't have to wait much longer to try out the colorful boxing title, but until then, they can check out a couple of the game's trailers.
ARMS is currently scheduled to come out on the Nintendo Switch sometime in the spring of 2017.
