Nintendo is planning to air a special Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday, April 12th, where the gaming giant will discuss upcoming titles for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch. In this installment of Nintendo Direct, the primary focus will be on Arms and Splatoon 2, two highly-anticipated titles for the Nintendo Switch.
With the Nintendo Switch in high demand, gamers are excited to see what Nintendo has planned for its newest console in the coming weeks. After the success of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, gamers have high expectations for games like Arms and Splatoon 2.
Unsurprisingly, gamers are most interested in seeing more about Arms, the unique fighting title coming to Nintendo Switch. Game Rant had an opportunity to try Arms a couple months ago, and noted at the time that the quirky fighting title provides a unique, enjoyable experience that will easily meet Nintendo fans’ expectations. Granted, the game will launch with a smaller-than-preferred lineup of characters, but it’s likely the roster will increase over time.
As for Splatoon 2, it’s not surprising to see that the game will be very much like its predecessor. Based on the Global Testfire from a couple weeks ago where gamers had a chance to try out the upcoming shooter, Splatoon is a strong sequel that doesn’t take too many risks. That’s not a problem, though, because as the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Since the focus of the Nintendo Direct presentation will be on Arms and Splatoon 2, gamers are hoping for a firm release date for both titles from Nintendo. Until now, there have only been rumors of release timelines, with no official dates yet announced.
It’s also likely that Nintendo will venture into discussing other games during the Nintendo Direct event this week, though gamers shouldn’t expect too many reveals other than what’s already been announced. Instead, it will be a good opportunity for gamers to learn more about the upcoming titles for Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Direct will take place on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 3:00 PM PT/6:00 PM ET.
