After its announcement in December 2016, the ARK: Survival Evolved VR spinoff releases a new trailer, filled with behind-the-scenes game development and plenty of dinosaurs.

The Studio Wildcard-published open world action-adventure game ARK: Survival Evolved has had its fair share of ups and downs since its initial development began in 2014. Things were looking up, however, in December 2016, when the ARK: Survival Evolved virtual reality game was announced. Entitled ARK Park, the spinoff game released a brand-new game trailer today, boosting anticipation for its eventual release.

Upon official announcement, ARK Park and its first trailer promised an immersive virtual reality experience suitable for players of all ages, one that allows players to learn about the dinosaurs they're hunting in ARK: Survival Evolved. Players will venture on journeys, called Excursions in the game, to interact with various creatures (not just dinosaurs!) and collect "Gene Cubes" to gain additional knowledge about the open world they're exploring. The latest trailer, released today, shows off footage from inside the engine and gives players a glimpse at the game's development.

Also teased in the ARK: Survival Evolved VR trailer are some additional flora and fauna players can educate themselves on as they wander through the vast and dense jungle. There was also another look at the Arkpark theme park visitor center, where players will begin their journeys and explorations.

While not much additional footage is included in the new trailer, it still seems to live up to the expectations most fans have for the game -- and may be the push a few naysayers need to get behind ARK Park and ARK: Survival Evolved. Given how various improvements and additional dinosaurs spurred the game's release to be delayed from its original April 2016 date, and the fact that ARK: Survival Evolved's studio was tied up in a $40 million lawsuit regarding ongoing legal troubles with Trendy Entertainment, positive news in the form of a new trailer bodes well for the upcoming Studio Wildcard VR title.

Considering the bumps ARK: Survival Evolved hit along the road toward release, there may be no telling when its VR spinoff ARK Park will be available. Overall, it seems an ambiguous release date has not been too big of a detriment to fans' anticipation of the game. Many have applauded ARK Park's multi-platform availability, the option to import creatures from its base ARK: Survival Evolved game, and its inclusion of both a Snap Mode and selfie stick. With in-engine footage and game development teased in the new trailer, perhaps additional gameplay features will be announced in the future.

The Ark: Survival Evolved VR spinoff, Ark Park, has no set release date as of January 2017. Ark: Survival Evolved is currently available in unfinished versions on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows operating systems. It will make its official release in 2017.
