With the popularity of Ark: Survival Evolved, spin-offs shouldn’t be surprising. After all, there is a live-action web series based on the game currently in development by a Game of Thrones VFX team. Alongside that, there is ARK Park, a virtual reality game developed by Snail Games with creative consultation by Studio Wildcard.

Although it was originally scheduled to release in December 2017, the VR game was delayed until Spring 2018. Now ARK Park is ready to make its official debut; the title will release on March 22, 2018 for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PSVR.

“Designed from the ground up as a stunningly realistic dinosaur theme park simulation, ARK Park allows players to freely traverse the grounds without any restrictions whatsoever. There’s no set plot or schedule to follow; you can choose how and where to go next at all times – exploring the prehistoric park at your own pace.”

While the most recent trailer has a very VR Jurassic Park vibe, there seem to be plenty of features for the VR experience to define itself such as exploring over 10 unique sceneries, collecting dinosaur DNA, gathering materials, crafting items, defending vital technology, and raising a personal dinosaur from hatchling to adulthood. ARK Park, as an implied combination of Ark: Survival Evolved and Jurassic Park, may very well become the definitive VR dinosaur game due to its classic features, but that’ll be seen when it releases next month.

With Ark: Survival Evolved getting spin-offs such as ARK Park and the aforementioned web series, many gamers may be wondering what’s next for the popular action-adventure survival game. So may be hoping it’s a Nintendo Switch port for the game, but that is unclear at this point. While a developer acknowledged the Switch would be a “great platform,” there is no official word, so in the meantime, ARK Park may fill the void.

ARK Park is schedule to release on March 22, 2018 for HTV Vive, Oculus Rift, and PSVR.
