Those playing Aragami 2 have a few choices between playstyles, much like in the previous game. One can either go through levels like a Spirit by not killing any guards, as a Demon by killing all of them in open combat, or as a Ghost by silently slaying all enemies from the shadows.

In addition to these different playstyles that are hinted at by the mission rewards screen, players can also achieve different ranks. Since the highest tier, S-rank, provides the most Exp gain from missions, it's ideal to figure out the best methods of reaching it for quick leveling in Aragami 2.

S-Rank Criteria Breakdown

Time Elapsed

The quicker one finished the level, the easier it will be to attain S-rank, regardless of playstyle. Each mission has a different sized map and different time-ranking criteria, however, on average, the time to stay under to have the best chance of getting an S-rank on a mission is 5 minutes or less. Sadly, the game gives no score readout for time, so players can easily miss this criterion and have difficulty gauging its effects.

Hostiles Killed

To get S-rank for the Spirit playstyle, players cannot kill any guards whatsoever. Even killing a single guard will drop one's rank to A or lower, depending on other factors involved with that particular kill.

Hostiles Unconscious

This criterion does not matter as much as Hostiles Killed and Hostiles Alive for S-rank on a Spirit playthrough, however, it does positively affect the chances. The higher one's Hostiles Unconscious counter, the higher rank one will get.

Hostiles Alive

Players will want to keep this number as high as possible to preserve their passive playthrough as a Spirit. This can be considered the opposite side of the coin from Hostiles Killed.

Bodies Found

For any kind of playthrough, keeping this number as low as possible will be beneficial toward getting a higher rank on missions. Be careful not to accidentally kill guards by throwing their unconscious bodies into water or off ledges, as this will affect a few of the above-mentioned criteria negatively if one is trying to be as Spirit-like as possible.

Player Discovered

This is the number of times that a player is discovered. Knocking out whoever spotted the player will not undo being discovered, so be sure to act stealthily in every mission. Keeping this number as low as possible, preferably at 0, will help one obtain an S-rank easier as a Spirit.

Player Respawns

Instead of losing a mission after one's character dies, players respawn at the starting point, though, each time this happens, it will add to the Player Respawn counter. Higher numbers of this criterion negatively impact one's rank, so try not to die too often, if it can be helped.

Others

The Mission Reward, Gold Found, and Collectibles Found criteria do not affect the ranking for any playstyle, so players can ignore this while on a mission unless they wish to do some gold-farming.

Aragami 2 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
