Apple has announced yet another event for the year, where the company is expected to reveal new information about its upcoming Apple Silicon MacBooks, which are slated to ditch the Intel processors typically found in the machines for the company's own solution. Significantly, this is a "One More Thing" event, a marker that typically indicates major reveals and was last used for 2017's announcement of the iPhone X.

Slated to take place on November 1o at 10 am PST, Apple has been purposely vague about the event's details. However, an AR logo currently circulating online opens and closes much like a MacBook does, which has fueled speculation about the event's nature. Plus, Apple announced its plans to swap out the Intel CPUs in favor of its Arm-based Macbook solution all the way back in June, so MacBook news seems obvious.

The switch would make MacBooks more efficient, according to Apple, with the goal being for the company being to eventually use its own processors in all of its devices. Additionally, Apple previously announced that the change would allow developers to make iPad OS and iOS apps available on MacBooks "without any modifications." The change makes for a simplified ecosystem that will be easier to develop and optimize software for, which is a good thing for all parties involved.

The event may also see the release of macOS Big Sur, the newest iteration of the MacBook operating system. The update was announced alongside the switch to Apple Silicon, though Big Sur has been in beta for months. Either way, Apple fans can likely expect some major shifts to the ecosystem in the coming weeks, though there will be a transition period as those with MacBooks adopt newer models.

This marks the second Apple event in less than a month. On October 13, Apple held an event to show off the iPhone 12, the company's latest in its popular line of phones. With new devices launching simultaneously, it's a big time for Apple, especially as the holiday shopping season approaches rapidly. Of course, Apple is no stranger to pushes during the holiday season, at this point.

The event is just over a week away, so fans don't have long to wait until they hear more from the company. There are a lot of positive changes that could potentially be made to newer iterations of the MacBook lineup, though fans won't know if Apple is focusing on design changes or under-the-hood improvements until the event takes place.

Apple's event is scheduled to take place on November 10 at 10 am PST.
