Ultra Zones has been replaced by the new Auto Banners LTM in the Apex Legends War Games event. In Auto Banners, players do not have to worry about grabbing the Banner Cards of their dead squadmates to respawn them.

This small but convenient change could make this LTM one of the more likely ones to see its rules added permanently to Apex Legends, as it allows players to get back in the arena more easily. Big changes to Legends and plenty of new features, including new Legend Valkyrie, are already coming with the upcoming season.

Normally when a squadmate is knocked down and then killed outright, another squadmate must recover their Banner Card within 90 seconds and then take it to a Respawn Beacon to bring their fallen friend back. The Auto Banners LTM simplifies the process and automatically gives players the Banner Cards of any dead team members, cutting out the 90-second timer.

When a teammate dies, players will have a message appear on their screen notifying them that they have automatically grabbed the Banner Card. Mobile Respawn Beacons also appear a lot more frequently in this mode, making it even easier to get teammates back into the arena. The absence of the timer also means that teammates are never out of the game as their Banner Cards can never expire.

Auto Banners is available on both Olympus, which will soon be infested as part of Season 9, and Kings Canyon. Because of the sheer size of Olympus, the extra Mobile Respawn Beacons can be really useful in trying to quickly resurrect squadmates without having to run particularly far. In hectic fights, Mobile Beacons can be quickly deployed, allowing fallen squadmates to get back to their box and quickly rejoin the fight.

Regular Respawn Beacons are still single-use, so the ease of respawning teammates means these Beacons can become unavailable very quickly. For this LTM, Apex Legends players might find it more useful to always pick up a Mobile Beacon over Heat Shields so that they can make great use of easy squadmate resurrections.

Auto Banners is live right now and will run until Wednesday, April 21, at which point the Killing Time LTM will take over. With only one more new LTM left to show, and a week of War Games to go, it is not yet clear as to how Respawn will bring back the Second Chance LTM after it was replaced by Armor Regen due to some bugs.

Apex Legends is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
