War Games has arrived in Apex Legends with another of its five special LTMs. Armor Regen grants all Legends automatic Body Shield regeneration at 12 shield points per second during the match.

After some bugs arose in the Second Chance LTM, it was quickly swapped out for the Shield Regen LTM instead. Ultra Zones will still go ahead and begin on Thursday, April 15, but it is unclear as to how Second Chance and Armor Regen will return to Apex Legends during the two-week event.

The War Games Armor Regen LTM mixes up the Apex Legends formula by giving shield regeneration to all Legends. If a player’s Body Shield takes a bit of damage, they will be able to see an eight-second countdown timer start with a Body Shield Icon next to their name in the bottom-left corner of their screen. Once this timer reaches zero, the player’s shield will begin regenerating at a rate of 12 points per second.

However, if a player has their Body Shield fully destroyed, the timer will double to 16 seconds before regenerating. The shield icon in the bottom-left corner will also turn red and say “cracked” to let players know that their regeneration delay will be much longer.

Once the regeneration timer is over, White Body Shields will fully regenerate in just over four seconds. Meanwhile, fully evolved Red Body Shields will take just over 10 seconds to get back to full strength. Players will also notice that the edges of their screens have a colored hexagon pattern while to show that their Body Shield is currently regenerating.

During the Armor Regen LTM, there are no Shield Cells available. Med Kits, Syringes, and Shield Batteries are unaffected and can be looted, crafted, and used as normal. Apex Legends players should not forget to use Shield Batteries mid-fight as it will always be faster than waiting for the automatic regeneration.

Players should know that Wattson’s new passive ability which grants her very slow shield regeneration still works in this mode. Since her ability has a far shorter regeneration delay, Wattson players will get a head start when it comes to regenerating Body Shields.

Octane also benefits massively from this mode as players will be able to make use of his passive health regeneration as well as the event’s shield regeneration. All players will also start each match with a White Body Shield already equipped, similar to how players started with equipment in the Locked and Loaded LTM.

Apex Legends is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
