Alongside Seer came a swath of changes to the meta in Season 10 of Apex Legends. Aside from the new Recon Legend adding an active surveillance element to the game, players also experienced changes to the Apex Legends weapon meta. This time around, the Spitfire LMG and the Alternator SMG became deadly additions to Care Packages aside from powerhouse Triple Take and Kraber Snipers.

Thankfully for players, they can also wreak havoc on the battlefield with the new Rampage LMG and the return of the Prowler SMG from the Care Package. With this new meta, just which weapons remain underrated?

10 Charge Rifle (Sniper, Sniper)

Charge Rifle

Newcomers can easily suspect the Charge Rifle for being an L-STAR, primarily due to their common frame. And unfortunately, it does tend to overwhelm players unfamiliar with its mechanics. For instance, Charge Rifle costs two Sniper Ammo per shot, with its long reload time not helping for clutch situations. Moreover, its shots don’t penetrate enemies and come in the form of a beam that can easily give away its position.

However, the Charge Rifle packs quite a punch for a sniper rifle. At its core, the Charge Rifle boasts a nigh-infinite range with no need to compensate for long-distance aiming or bullet drop. Moreover, the Charge Rifle remains accurate even when using ziplines or shooting while falling. As a plus, players might want to try using the Charge Rifle on hipfire, as it can act as a mini - and albeit more violent - L-STAR.

9 HAVOC Rifle (AR, Energy)

Havoc Rifle

For an assault rifle, the HAVOC Rifle can become extremely frustrating for its ramp-up requirement. After all, this tiny delay is easily punishable in clutch fights. This unnecessary delay, on top of slow reload speed and strong recoil, can make the HAVOC Rifle a nightmare to wield for newcomers.

Thankfully, what the HAVOC Rifle lacks in speed, it more than makes up for with its high damage stats. When wielded properly, the HAVOC Rifle does boast decent damage per shot and per second. Moreover, the HAVOC Rifle outclasses all other ARs in terms of mag capacity.

8 G7 Scout (Marksman, Light)

G7 Scout

Fans of Titanfall will probably remember the G2A6 when looking at the G7 Scout. This is because the Marksman weapon does serve as the G2A6’s successor. Sadly, its hunting rifle frame makes it an odd in-between of the shotgun and the sniper, seemingly not excelling in either. It doesn’t help that the G7 Scout isn’t good with iron sights, and boasts poor close-range performance.

However, the G7 Scout can easily outclass other weapons when used properly. It boasts a high enough fire rate to compete with auto weapons. Moreover, its bullet travel distance can also compete with snipers. On top of decent mid-range performance, a G7 Scout with the right optics can become a high-speed sniper alternative.

7 30-30 Repeater (Marksman, Heavy)

30 30 Repeater

When Season 8 introduced the 30-30 Repeater, quite a number of Battle Pass quests required players to use it more often. After all, players would definitely wonder - how exactly is the 30-30 Repeater different from the G7 Scout? It doesn’t help that its charged shots require ADS - which both reduces firing rate and reveals quite distracting iron sights. To add to its downsides, it has extremely slow reload speed and slow bullet travel at long range.

Thankfully, the 30-30 Repeater does have its fair share of strengths. For instance, donning the Shatter Caps can make the 30-30 Repeater almost as powerful as SMGs and Shotguns in close-ranged hipfiring. Moreover, the 30-30 has easy handling with the perk of being able to shoot one bullet while reloading.

6 Devotion LMG (LMG, Energy)

Devotion LMG

Anyone who’s ever used the HAVOC will probably hate the Devotion LMG at first. After all, if the Havoc has strong recoil, so does the Devotion! Not to mention, its generally slow handling (from drawing, ramp-up, to reloading) can make using it quite punishing for beginners. And while the Devotion LMG does have a high firing rate, it can deplete reserves of rare Energy Ammo quite easily.

Thing is, anyone devoted to the Devotion LMG will be generously rewarded. Even without the Turbocharger, the Devotion has the fastest projectile speed in the game. And when ramped up, the Devotion also boasts the highest DPS! Players can probably face an enemy head-on and outlast them with a full Devotion clip.

5 L-STAR EMG (LMG, Energy)

LSTAR

Fans of Titanfall would fondly remember the L-STAR EMG, and it returns in Apex Legends as an Energy Ammo LMG. Unfortunately, this classic weapon can be pretty intimidating to use at first glance. After all, its muzzle flash and energy projectile can become pretty distracting for players. Moreover, its low projectile speed can demand players to actively engage foes to build up damage.

However, players who use the L-STAR EMG will quickly realize that they’re packing a smaller version of the Charge Rifle. At its core, the L-STAR immediately boasts high damage per shot. Moreover, players who use the L-STAR EMG in bursts won’t ever experience overheating - potentially never having to stop firing. As a plus, the distracting muzzle flash for players is distracting to targets, too!

4 Hemlok Burst AR (Assault Rifle, Heavy)

Hemlok

Players would fondly remember the Hemlok Burst AR for its 3-shot burst mode, quite unusual for an AR in the game. Sadly, the other auto weapons can easily outclass the Hemlok in terms of damage. Its low base mag size and distracting iron sights can make early game incursions quite disadvantageous. Not to mention, burst fire mode can become unnecessarily irritating in chaotic firefights.

Thing is, players who can “get in the zone” with the Hemlok can transform it into a deadly weapon. At its core, the Hemlok’s burst mode easily outranks other weapons at medium range. Moreover, its single-fire mode boasts the second-fastest rate of fire, making Hemlok a mean but faster sniper alternative in emergency situations.

3 RE-45 Auto (Pistol, Light)

RE 45

Players who encounter the RE-45 Auto might be surprised to realize that it’s an automatic pistol. Sadly, what it boasts in terms of rate of fire, it does lack in terms of magazine capacity, damage per shot, and DPS in general. As such, the RE-45 can easily become a discardable tool once players find a better weapon in case of emergencies.

However, it’s precisely the appearance of the RE-45 Auto in most areas of the game that makes it one of the most reliable weapons out there. Aside from its high fire rate, it boasts extremely predictable and controllable recoil. Moreover, it has great hipfire performance and doesn’t suffer from a lot of movement penalties at ADS. Players having a hard time finding their favorite weapon can rely on the RE-45 Auto for their early-game incursions.

2 P2020 (Pistol, Light)

P2020

What better to call an underrated weapon than everyone’s least favorite sidearm, the P2020? This pistol is so common that it’s even free in the Arenas Mode! It doesn’t help that its semi-auto nature is paired with a slow projectile speed. Not to mention, the P2020 does need fast clicking to get a lot of bullets out compared to other weapons. Even the Mozambique and the Wingman pack more punch than the P2020.

Despite its limitations, the P2020 does deserve merit in other departments. It has extremely low recoil and performs well in hipfire - perfect for emergencies. Moreover, its quick reload and lack of penalty in ADS can make it a great sidearm in emergencies.

1 Bocek Compound Bow (Marksman, Arrows)

Bocek Compound Bow

The Bocek Compound Bow comes with Arrows, its unique Ammo type (so far), and boasts perhaps some of the best accuracies among its category. Unfortunately, its slow draw speed, optic limitations, and general lack of versatility without its Hop-Ups can make the Bocek quite difficult to wield for newcomers. Despite these setbacks, though, the Bocek Compound Bow can pose a deadly threat to those who know how to use it properly.

At its core, the Bocek boasts extremely high accuracy. Moreover, its lack of magazine means no reloading, theoretically letting players get consistent damage. It can use two Hop-Ups to expand its firing capacity, with Shatter Caps spreading arrows like shotgun pellets and Deadeye’s Tempo to increase the rate of fire. Lastly, it’s one of the most silent weapons out there, making it perfect for long-distance ambushes.
