Apex Legends is a popular battle royale game and it seems that the title may be able to increase its impressive player base with the Season 6 update. The update for Apex Legends Season 6 is out now and it has already introduced new characters and features that players appear to be enjoying. However, dataminers have been uncovering items, features, and maps that have yet to appear in the game, and one of those maps is called Tropic Island.

There have been several Apex Legends leaks in the build-up to this season and predictably some have been accurate, while others have proved to be unsubstantiated claims. However, certain elements may be revealed later in the season and although it has yet to be spotted, many are expecting a new area to be unveiled in the game after dataminers found code that supports its existence. The map is the second to be uncovered but it is unclear when they will arrive in the game if at all.

Frequent leakers of Apex Legends information, Shrugtal and Biast12, have both shared images of files that contain the "Tropic Island" name but other than that not too much is known about the content. The update for Season 6 may have simply added the code to be built upon in a different season or a later date. With that in mind, some players will want a statement from Respawn Entertainment or Electronic Arts before they get excited about the possibility of new areas to explore and battle in.

It will be interesting to see if more content will come to Apex Legends in Season 6. At the moment, many players will be happy with the new content that has already arrived, which includes the new character Rampart and crafting stations that allow players to use collected resources. However, it seems that the team behind the game have planned for plenty of content to keep Apex Legends engaging. With this in mind, the game may begin to attract newcomers as the free-to-play game expands on its already sizeable content.

There seem to be plenty of ideas for Apex Legends, and if they can be developed while delivering enjoyable experiences then the title may improve its already considerable popularity. However, in a saturated battle royale genre, the game also needs to continue giving players a satisfying experience so that they are not swayed by competition.

Apex Legends is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version also in development.
