Apex Legends fans that are excited about the incoming arrival of the Nintendo Switch version of the game have been given another reason to be hyped. A new trailer has been released for the Switch port of Apex Legends, and it reveals a special skin for Pathfinder.

Pathfinder has become an increasingly important character in Apex Legends' lore, as his Stories from the Outlands video filled in major chunks of backstory. Beyond this, the zipline-using bot is a beloved character for his cheerful personality and unique design. As such, Pathfinder is one of the most well-known Legends in the game, even if he lacks the effectiveness boasted by characters such as Wraith. He also has plenty of great cosmetics, and yet another alternate armor design is being added to the list.

The latest trailer for the Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends showcases a new Pathfinder design, and it boasts a special recoloring. While the skin looks identical to Pathfinder’s default design, every part of the robot has been painted red and white. The signature colors of the Nintendo Switch brand, this costume is a subtle but effective way to celebrate the game’s arrival to the platform. Pathfinder will be accompanied by 30 free Battle Pass tiers and two weeks of Double XP – both of which should allow Switch users to catch up on the game’s current season of content.

While more extreme skins could have been added, like a Mario version of Mirage or a Samus variant of Loba Andrade, this Pathfinder outfit will likely be more enjoyable for a greater part of the audience. With crossover skins only exciting for fans of the character making an appearance, this recolored Pathfinder skin is a safer way to connect to Nintendo. Exclusive to the Switch version of Apex Legends, players will be able to get the skin until May 4, encouraging gamers to log-in to the game sooner rather than later.

As for the rest of the trailer, it is full of the usual Apex Legends action. Characters can be seen using their special abilities, while players can be seen in the usual groups of three. The game appears to run well in the trailer, though it remains to be seen if Switch players are at a disadvantage in Apex Legends due to Joy-Con drift and the console’s small screen. The game could also have performance issues, though it will be impossible to know until how well it runs until it launches next week.

With an Apex Legends playtest currently going on for the Switch version of the game, it seems like Respawn is doing everything it can to ensure a smooth launch. When the game drops, Pathfinder players can expect to drop in with a stylish, exclusive skin equipped.

Apex Legends is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will release for Nintendo Switch on March 9.
