Apex Legends is one of the biggest multiplayer games around right now. Respawn Entertainment's battle royale is enjoyed by millions for its fast-paced tactical gameplay and a wide cast of Legends. The developer continues to improve on the game with new maps, weapons, content, and more. But one group that has been missing out on the Apex Legends fun has been the Nintendo Switch playerbase, but that is likely about to change.

Over the summer of 2020, Respawn announced that the Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends was in development. Since then, players have been waiting for more information. And now, more evidence points to the fact that the Switch release could be right around the corner; just a week away, in fact.

A few weeks ago it was rumored that the Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends would release as soon as February 2, 2021. This date would coincide with Season 8 of Apex Legends. The date came from YouTube descriptions that were since updated to no longer include the Switch information, but the damage was done. But now, even more data has come forth.

A Japanese Amazon listing (that is still live) for the Apex - Champion Edition shows that same February 2, 2021 date; all but perhaps confirming that the Switch version of Apex Legends will be released on that day. Of course, Apex Legends is a free-to-play game, but the Apex - Champion Edition sells via retailers as a version that instantly comes with Legends that would normally need to be unlocked and exclusive Legendary skins.

With Season 8 of Apex Legends set to begin shortly, and that February 2 date just a week away, fans will find out soon if they will be able to play on Nintendo's hybrid console or not. And with Apex Legends coming up on its two year anniversary, it will be exciting for Nintendo Switch players to be able to jump right in and have so many options as far as weapons, maps, Legends, and more.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version currently in development
