Over the weekend, rumors began circulating that suggested that a new, free-to-play battle royale game, set in the Titanfall universe, would be releasing imminently. Respawn Entertainment has now substantiated portions of these claims, indicating that the game, titled Apex Legends, will be formally revealed through a live stream scheduled for February 4.

Taking to Twitter, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella confirmed that Monday's stream will begin at 8am PT on Twitch, and it will not be light on details. "We'll tell you everything about Apex Legends," Zampella writes. "Everything." Zampella further clarified, though, that the teases will start at 8am PT but the real content-focused stream won't take place until noon.

Furthermore, it appears that a number of content creators are also are set to give fans a look at Apex Legends, with Twitch streamers such as DrDisRespect, Shroud, and TSM_Daequan posting that they will be sharing more about Respawn's new title on Monday. These posts follow a visit the content creators made to Los Angeles where they were given hands-on access to the game.

While there is now official confirmation that Apex Legends is real, Zampella did not provide any details on the launch date for the battle royale title. That said, the previous leaks point to a February 4 release day, which may mean that players will have the opportunity to jump into Respawn's new game immediately following the live stream. If that is not the case, the date is certain to be one of the details confirmed in the stream.

Additionally, some players may be looking for confirmation on the platforms that will support Apex Legends. Current information suggests that the game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but fans will need to wait for the official reveal for definitive information on the matter.

Regarding gameplay, it is said that the new title will be similar to Overwatch, with players selecting classes that have their own unique abilities as they team up and do battle. The leaks also suggest that Apex Legends will feature loot box-based microtransactions and will have the ability to support up to 60 players in a single match.

Whatever the specifics of the game may be, the announcement from Zampella means that players will not have to wait long to have a comprehensive look at the new title. While some may be disappointed that Respawn is not revealing Titanfall 3, others will certainly be excited to sit down with Apex Legends soon.
