Season 11 of Apex Legends managed to bring with it major changes to Respawn's popular free to play battle royale. Another Titanfall legend was added to the game, this time the villainous Ash is now playable with her Ronin Blade and powerful passive death box ability. The C.A.R. SMG, another fan favorite weapon from the Titanfall series was also added, as well as all sorts of tweaks and changes that the community has largely found beneficial.

However, Season 11's biggest change is the addition of a new map known as Storm Point. Part island paradise and part chaotic storm, the new map is Apex Legends' biggest map yet, roughly 15% bigger than World's Edge. Featuring unique additions like Wildlife Nests, Gravity Launchers, and 17 named locations, there's going to be a little something for everyone on Storm Point. Even after the community discovered tons of Easter eggs and hidden areas, one player has managed to uncover another hidden landmass.

On the Apex Legends subReddit, a user known as DarkDesertFox accidentally found a hidden underwater island off the coast of Storm Point. After losing a teammate to a disconnect during a Trios match, DarkDesertFox decided to have a little fun by trying to eliminate themselves by landing in the ocean. While this is normally an instant KO, DarkDesertFox instead plunged below the waves and found a surprising new area.

After falling through the water, the pair instead landed normally on a sandy beach, with the ocean seamingly now invisible above them. While the spot doesn't appear to be much of a threat to the game as other Apex Legends glitches have proven previously, as the island is far on the edge of the map which will result in early ring damage as well as no way to loot gear, it's likely a spot that Respawn will seemingly look to fix once the holiday break is through.

As popular as season 11 has proven to be already, the game appears primed for a bigger 2022. The statistics surrounding Apex Legends in 2021 continued to rise and many top streamers like FaZe Kalei are now recommending Warzone players make the switch to Respawn's F2P battle royale. With the ongoing controversies surrounding Activision Blizzard's workplace as well as the continued issues with bugs, glitches, and other frustrations inside of Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends could certainly see a continued rise in popularity come 2022.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
