Apex Legends Season 8 content is almost here and it looks like this battle royale's new season of content is going to kick off with a bang. Apex recently revealed Season 8's new Legend Fuse, who looks to have a knack for causing explosions and mayhem.

Apex Legends gave fans a brief taste of what they can expect from Fuse's personality, showing his backstory as an inhabitant of planet Salvo. Now, Apex Legends has released a brand new cinematic showing Fuse's induction into the roster of the Apex Games, as well as the destruction of the King's Canyon map which will feature in Season 8.

Fans got a taste of King's Canyon's return to Apex Legends during the past couple of weeks, as the map was brought back to the rotation for the first time in ages. Now, with the new "Mayhem" launch trailer, fans have an idea of the changes coming to the map with Season 8. The "Mayhem" launch trailer is similar to the recent "Good as Gold" trailer that showed much of Fuse's backstory in that it mostly sets up the events that players will see play out over the course of Season 8. The trailer opens with a giant celebration meant to welcome Fuse into the roster of the Apex Games, but things quickly go south as one of Fuse's old Salvo comrades, Maggie, cuts in.

Maggie hijacks Fuse's welcome party, threatening the other Legends to betray Fuse or have the Apex Games ended forever. When Fuse ignores her threats, Maggie turns Fuse's ship's cannons on the crowd, destroying much of the surrounding landscape. To stop the barrage, Fuse uses an EMP grenade to disrupt the ship before more damage can be done. Unfortunately, Maggie detonates the massive explosive charges hidden within the rocky terrain of King's Canyon, obliterating much of the original map.

The trailer ends with Fuse recounting the events around a campfire while giving a brief glimpse of the surrounding destruction of King's Canyon. While no gameplay of Fuse was shown during the trailer, players were teased with brief glimpses of some of the abilities Fuse will have in Apex Legends. The early portion of the trailer shows Fuse using his massive rocket launcher as a prize cannon, shooting out stuffed animals to the onlookers in the crowd. This rocket launcher will most likely be used during his Ultimate Ability, Motherlode.

Additionally, the trailer ends with Fuse using what's likely to be his tactical ability, which takes the form of an arm-mounted grenade launcher. Players also got to see a closeup look at the new 30-30 Repeater, which Fuse also uses during the new trailer. While players are still going to have to wait a bit longer to see what exactly Season 8's gameplay has in store for them, the wait won't be too much longer. Apex Legend's Season 8 "Mayhem" content will roll out on February 2.

Apex Legends is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version also in development. The Season 8 content update launches on February 2.
