With 2021 rolling along, Apex Legends players are looking forward to the new Season 8 launching this February 2 with its new content. Respawn Entertainment already confirmed Season 8's highly-requested Damage Tracker feature will be added to the game's multiplayer. The developer will also add a new weapon to Apex Legends Season 8 along with the new Legend, Fuse.

Respawn is adding the 30-30 Repeater Rifle to Season 8 of Apex Legends that will add some extra kick to players' arsenal. The new weapon was revealed as a promotion for the new season that comes with a brief description of the weapon but no exact details. The 30-30 Repeater rifle is described to be a weapon that "picks apart the opposition."

The reveal of the 30-30 Repeater Rifle coming to Season 8 is a big change since Apex Legends Season 7 didn't add any new weapons to the game. Respawn doesn't provide too much detail on the weapon's ammo types, attachments, or even the type of weapon damage it will have. The description does say the rifle will have "hard-hitting rounds," implying it will deal significant damage. More information on the 30-30 Repeater rifle will likely follow closer to the season's launch in February.

The 30-30 Repeater Rifle briefly shows up in a promotional image shown in the Season 8 Fuse reveal trailer and has some extra lore tied to it. According to the weapon's description, the 30-30 Repeater is the planet Salvo's most popular weapon, but not much more information is provided beyond that. It's possible more weapons may show up in Season 8, but this is the only one confirmed so far.

While this is the weapon's official first appearance, it did appear in the Apex Legends Season 6 dev stream. Some viewers took several screenshots of the weapon and used them with the official image for Apex Legends Season 8 to speculate on the weapon's capabilities. Some have speculated that the 30-30 Repeater might favor precision since it looks like a hunting rifle, and that it might have scopes for attachments. It may also have cosmetic weapon skins as other weapons do in the game.

Since Season 8 launches two days before Apex Legends' second anniversary in a couple of weeks, Respawn might reveal more details on the weapon, Fuse, and the potential integration of the new planet Salvo by then. Players will be able to see for themselves what the 30-30 Repeater is capable of when Season 8 starts on February 2.

Apex Legends is free-to-play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with Mobile and Switch versions in development.
