After launching to enormous success in early February, Apex Legends gave fans even more to do and unlock with the season 1 battle pass. In addition to currency, skins, and loot, the biggest addition to season one was the new character known as Octane. As previously rumored, the Octane has a stim shot ability that allows him to run faster as well as a jump pad ultimate ability for his entire squad to use. However, it now looks like Octane isn't going to be the only character to join the roster this season.

The new details regarding a second season 1 character comes from the official PlayStation website listing for Apex Legends. Under the Wild Frontier section of the page, players can get details on everything coming during this first season like new items, the battle pass, and more. However, another paragraph specifically mentions that two new characters will be launching over the course of this first season as well as a new weapon set.

While fans continue to debate how worthwhile the season 1 battle pass really is, Octane launched on the same day which clearly indicates that he is the first of two characters. Season 1 of Apex Legends extends over the course of three months, so that's likely plenty of development and testing time for Respawn Entertainment to launch another character. Without any hints or details, it's likely the appearance of a new character will likely happen towards the end of the season.

Another new character joining the Apex Legends roster shouldn't be much of a surprise to fans of the game, as there have been plenty of leaks and rumors over the past month hinting at such a thing happening. One rumor, in particular, indicated that Jack Cooper, the protagonist of Titanfall 2's story mode, would eventually make his way onto the playable roster, potentially bringing the wall running ability back with him.

Just a couple weeks ago, another user datamined files that holds potential information on 10 new DLC characters including another heavily hinted at character known as Prophet. WIth four battle passes likely coming in 2019 alone, it's possible that many of these characters could be arriving over the course of the year.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
