Now that Apex Legends Season 1 is officially underway, all eyes are on Octane and the evolving tier-100 Havoc weapon skin. Season 1 has also seen a few fixes for the game and other characters, chief among them is Pathfinder's hitboxes being reduced to a reasonable size. However, that's not the only Pathfinder-related revelation of the season, as one player has also noticed a strange Easter egg for the character on one of the weapon skins.

The weapon in question is the fan-favorite, yet sometimes contentious, Peacekeeper. The legendary skin known as the PAL 9000 has always been clearly connected to the robotic competitor of the Apex Games, as there are smiley faces covering the gun similar to his main display. This Apex Legends Peacekeeper skin even features binary, but until now, no one has bothered translating the binary code.

Thanks to a Reddit user known as Clementinise, we now know the binary code translates to "KILL PATHFINDER." Darker tones aside, this is an interesting Apex Legends Easter egg that begs the question as to why the weapon reads this phrase. One comment, receiving over 1.3k upvotes, hopes that the creator of Pathfinder wanted to end him in a very Frankenstein-esque manner.

However, until any official Apex Legends lore is revealed, that's mostly hilarious speculation. Considering that every Apex Legends character has some backstory, it would be interesting to see if Pathfinder's creator could ever be added as a character to the battle royale title, with perhaps the leaked character Wattson fitting that role. Per Pathfinder's lore, he is looking for his creator who abandoned him after all. And it's certainly plausible there's another explanation for why this Peacekeeper skin reads "KILL PATHFINDER."

As far as the leaked Wattson character is concerned, he does have a scientist-sounding name, and his leak — which was found next to Octane's at the time — details electric abilities such as the Tesla Trap. It would be fitting for this character to somehow tie-in with Pathfinder, but until more is revealed, very little is known about Wattson (if he is ever actually added to the BR title). So, only time will tell if this Apex Legends Easter egg is ever truly explained.

Apex Legends is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
