Apex Legends Leak Reveals Two New Weapons

Dataminers have discovered two new weapons in the game files of Apex Legends, including their names and stats, which are likely to appear in the game in the near future along with some new characters as well. According to the files, the weapons are a light machine gun called the L-STAR EMG and an assault rifle called the HAVOC.

Because Apex Legends is set within the Titanfall universe, players should have a good idea what the L-STAR EMG light machine gun will look and play like because a light machine gun called the L-STAR appeared in both Titanfall games (pictured below). Although, players should not be surprised if there are some differences between how the gun deals out damage in a battle royale versus the Titanfall games' traditional single- and multi-player when it does finally hit Apex Legends. Unfortunately, there is no hint as to what the HAVOC might look like because a weapon with that name has never appeared in Titanfall before.

Looking at the database information for these weapons via a website called, the L-STAR EMG currently has the highest DPS of any light machine gun in the game by a considerable margin. As for the HAVOC assault rifle, it looks like it will have a unique accompanying mod called Selectfire Receiver that will allow players to select between two firing modes, semi-auto and full-auto. It will also have a legendary mod called Turbocharger, which "reduces autofire spin-up time." As far as damage, the HAVOC falls in the mid-high tier when it comes to DPS, having more on average than the R301-Carbine and the VK-47 Flatline, but falling short of the Hemlock.

While it is unknown when these two weapons will officially be added to the game, chances are good that they will be added to Apex Legends in March when the first season of the game officially kicks off, including the addition of a Battle Pass.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
