With Apex Legends' still relatively new Arenas mode a permanent fixture, it's hardly surprising that Respawn intends on supporting it with new maps. It launched with five maps already (two new ones and three taken from locations from the battle-royale maps) and the recent Genesis Collection event has temporarily added the fan-favorite Skull Town. And now dataminers believe they may have already found what the next one will be.

Regular Apex Legends dataminers Shrugtal and KralRindo have sifted through the game's files following the most recent update and have found and uploaded images of what they believe will be the next Arenas map: Overflow. Unlike the aforementioned Skull Town, it appears to be a wholly original location, taking place in some kind of factory, with streams of lava running through it and potentially posing as an obstacle for all players.

While it's not entirely clear what the actual layout is like, KralRindo also found a blueprint of the map which depicts it as a single corridor. It then expands into a much larger area in the middle, which is likely where most of the action will take place. As a reminder, the Arenas mode trims teams down to only three players each, pitting two teams against each other in an elimination deathmatch, similar to something like Valorant.

When this new map will actually release is a mystery, with the most obvious guess being when the next season of content begins, which is expected to happen around early August. However, it's always possible that Respawn will hold another event like the Genesis Collection at some point in July and introduce the new map then, just like with Skull Town. According to Dexerto, there have been leaks pointing to something called the Thrillseekers Arenas event, so it could very well be included with that.

Although Respawn is keeping quiet about future content for the game, it has recently commented on the continued cheaters/hackers problem. Apex Legends obviously isn't the only online multiplayer game to have them but with cheaters and hackers remaining a persistent issue, Respawn has outlined new initiatives to crack down on such players.

Aside from hiring new staff to focus on issuing bans, it's also working on new tools designed to automatically detect and prevent DDOS attacks. These have become worryingly common in the past and effectively prevent the servers from working properly, ruining matches for everybody else. It's become so bad that Respawn has even considered legal action against those responsible.

Apex Legends is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
