Apex Legends' Season 9 content has finally been revealed and Respawn looks to be shaking things up in a big way once again. The brand new "Stories from the Outlands" trailer revealed the next legend coming to the game: Valkyrie, who is bringing a lot of Titanfall-related lore to Apex Legends.

Aside from the new Legend, EA and Respawn have also teased fans on some of the new content and changes coming to the battle royale game next season. It seems that the Olympus map is going to be getting some changes in Season 9 and the Bocek Bow is going to be added to Apex Legends as the new weapon this time around.

Most of the news dropped following the premiere of the "Stories from the Outlands" trailer, which gave a full eight minutes of backstory to the new Legend Valkyrie, otherwise known as Kairi Imahara. Now, EA has updated the Apex Legends website with tidbits of information detailing some of the new content coming to the game next season, which Respawn is simply calling "Legacy." Legacy will apparently introduce chances to the fan-favorite Apex Legend map Olympus. According to the website, the changes involve an Infested Olympus reading, "an infestation has sprung loose, strangling the city with roots and natural growths."

While that's all the description that fans can get at the moment, it does still give players a pretty good idea of what the map may end up looking like throughout Legacy. The change will most likely be similar to the changes made to Kings Canyon following Fuse's introduction in Season 8, but will instead focus on additions of greenery and nature overtaking the usually pristine and sterile look of Olympus. Additionally, EA has briefly detailed the new weapon coming to Apex Legends in Legacy: the Bocek Bow. The description calls it "a powerful and deadly weapon, for those with the skill to wield it."

As players can imagine, this bow will most likely have a slow rate of fire but deal heavy damage with each shot. The description further details the weapon, reading, "Capable of inflicting tremendous damage at medium range, you'll need to make each shot count." On its face, the weapon type doesn't seem all to different from the 30-30 Repeater introduced in Season 8. However, the 30-30 will most likely end up having a much faster rate of fire than the Bocek Bow. Additionally, the Bocek Bow will no doubt deal far more damage per shot than the 30-30 Repeater.

Those are the big additions that EA and Respawn have revealed so far to be coming to Apex Legends in Legacy. Considering Respawn is dropping the numbered season convention and simply calling Season 9 Legacy, it seems as if Respawn is looking to make some big changes to the battle royale moving forward.

Apex Legends is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
