One of the big new features that Apex Legends brought to the battle royale genre when it launched was the ability for players to bring their killed squadmates back into the game. Many Apex Legends players are now calling for a small change that could make the process much easier on players jumping into queues alone.

The call for change is concerned with Apex Legends' Mobile Respawn Beacons. At launch, players had to retrieve a player's banner and take it to one of multiple respawn beacons scattered across the map. Last year, however, Apex Legends added a mobile respawn beacon item that allows players to call in a respawn beacon in a similar way to how Apex Legends' medic character Lifeline's ultimate ability works.

The idea came from a post to the game's subreddit by Reddit user hesido that when players go down with a mobile respawn box it should notify their squadmates. That way, players who play with random other players in games will know that they can loot their killed squadmates' boxes to grab them and bring them back as quickly as possible. The suggested change comes shortly after Apex Legends launched its biggest update yet for Season 9.

The comment section of the suggestion houses mixed reactions. Many players approve of the idea and say that it would be a great help for players who don't want to use the game's voice chat. Other players are saying that it will help motivate players to not use voice chat, which many of the community don't want to encourage. Other players are also adding on other suggestions, such as downed players being able to ping any of the items in their boxes to tell their squadmates to grab them. The developers have yet to comment on the suggestion, but with how frequently the Apex Legends team responds to fans, it should not be long until players know if the idea caught their eye.

Apex Legends is a constantly changing battle royale that the developers are consistently updating and adding new content to. Apex Legends even recently added a brand new Arenas game mode recently along with reworking Lifeline and adding the new Bocek Bow weapon. With how many members of the community seem to be supportive of the idea, hopefully, developer Respawn Entertainment will take notice of it soon and maybe even consider adding the new feature into the game for all of the players without mics.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
