Apex Legends Mobile's Launch Time and Character Roster

It has been confirmed that Apex Legends Mobile is set to launch on May 17 for both iOS and Android devices. Considering the title was initially teased in May 2019, fans are excited to finally get their hands on the game after three years of anticipation. In total, Apex Legends Mobile is set to contain 10 playable Legends at launch. Long-time fans will recognize a large majority of these characters from the console and PC versions of Apex Legends, with only one of them being new and mobile exclusive.

Returning characters from Apex Legends are Bangalore, Caustic, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Mirage, Pathfinder, Octane, Wraith, and Bloodhound. Despite this being a rather limited roster when considering the 21 playable legends in the other versions of Apex, it is safe to assume that other characters will be added as time passes.

The tenth mobile-exclusive Legend that is set to launch with Apex Legends Mobile is called Fade. Fade is a human male Legend known as the "Phasing Punisher." A lot of Fade's abilities will seemingly be centered around high-paced agility, with many of them reportedly being leaked prior to launch. According to these leaks, Fade's passive ability will be called Slipstream, allowing him a movement speed boost after sliding. Fade's tactical ability is Flash Back, which will allow him to "rewind" his movement akin to Tracer in Overwatch. These leaks also suggest that Fade's ultimate ability is Phase Chamber, which can send nearby legends to the Void.

Maps and Game Modes for Apex Legends Mobile

Currently, the only map confirmed to be in Apex Legends Mobile at launch is the classic World's Edge map. Long-time fans of Apex Legends will know that this is a map which has already featured heavily on console and PC versions of the game. It has been confirmed that Apex Legends Mobile will be host to its own wholly unique and exclusive maps down the line, so this is something that fans should expect to see later on in the game's life cycle.

Like the versions of Apex Legends for other platforms, there will be plenty of other game modes beyond the classic battle royale in this upcoming mobile port. In Apex Legends Mobile, players will be able to choose from classic battle royale, mini battle royale, team deathmatch, 3v3 arenas, and ranked battle royale. With the game also set to launch its own seasons and battle pass system, this wide variety of game modes will hopefully help to broaden the possibilities of leveling up, as well as the overall gameplay variety in Apex Legends Mobile. Whether the game is set to receive its own modes like it has unique characters remains to be seen, but with the imminent launch fans won't have to wait long.

Apex Legends Mobile is set to launch worldwide for Android and iOS devices on May 17.
