And with Apex Legends: Mobile implementing and improving upon some of the most fundamental Apex Legends mechanics out there, it’s no question why the likes of Bangalore can become a favored Legend to use.

Bangalore in both the original game and Mobile have the same toolkit, being able to unleash a smokescreen to mask her presence and rain down hell on enemies through her missiles. And for players who want to dominate the mobile game with Bangalore, just what else should they consider in her toolkit?

Bangalore: Unhinged Aggression

Built as a straightforward Offensive Legend, Bangalore specializes in ensuring she and her allies have the means of catching enemies by surprise while at the same time having all the opportunities for exit. Given her lore as a former military officer, Bangalore’s toolkit makes sense in transforming her as an accessible Legend built for those used to action-packed FPS. As such, strategies when using her include:

  • Double Time encourages aggression: Thanks to the speed buff of her Passive, Bangalore is heavily encouraged to go on the offensive. Even in close quarters, her speed buff makes it difficult for enemies to chase her around, giving players the edge.
  • Smoke whenever in trouble: Bangalore players should have their smoke as their first instinct whenever the team comes in danger. Even if they don’t know where shots are coming from, as soon as Double Time kicks in, they can smoke in their general vicinity and find a vantage point as soon as possible.
  • Rolling Thunder for shock and awe: Instead of using Bangalore’s Ultimate in combat, it should always be considered a shock-and-awe tool. Bangalore should use this when attacking enemies by surprise or interrupting other teams in combat.

The Skills: Strategic Smoke, Bombs

Bangalore in Combat

Given how Bangalore shares the same toolkit in Apex Mobile as her other counterparts, it makes sense to rely on her Skills similar to how players use them in the main game. At its core, Bangalore’s skills encourage aggressive gameplay that gives her a healthy mix of methods for ambushes, escapes, and even deterrents.

Passive: Double Time Signals Battle

Bangalore’s Double Time (Passive) gives herself a limited speed boost when taking fire from enemies. It doesn’t matter if she sees them or not and if she’s hit or not, simply taking fire near her general hitbox gives her Double Time.

Not only that, but getting fired at multiple times can give Bangalore near-unlimited speed boosts, allowing players to quickly decide whether to try to find the enemy or run away from danger. Considering the game gives a marker where enemy fire is coming from, Bangalore can easily spot enemies after getting Double Time.

Tactical: Smoke Launcher Sets Ambushes, Escapes

Bangalore and an area in smoke

Thanks to Smoke Launcher, Bangalore can fire a high-velocity smoke pellet that creates a smoke wall on impact. When paired with Bloodhound’s Toolkit or switching to third-person mode, Bangalore and her team can see a bit of detail through the smoke.

The Smoke Launcher is highly flexible depending on Bangalore’s goals. For instance, shooting it near her team allows them to run away, while shooting it towards the enemy can leave them open for ambush.

Ultimate: Rolling Thunder Brings The Pain

When Bangalore unleashes Rolling Thunder, she can throw a signal fire that sends a cluster of missiles towards the general direction she is facing. The missiles then explode slowly, heavily damaging and slowing down enemies inside the vicinity. Allies and herself caught inside get slowed too, however.

Rolling Thunder is best used as a deterrent, where Bangalore can throw this in the general direction of the enemy, so they get discouraged chasing the team. Likewise, Bangalore in the mood for a third party can throw this in the middle of a fight and wreak havoc.

Legend Perks: Aggression Is Key

Bangalore Perk Tree

Introduced as a unique feature in Apex Mobile, Legend Perks provide special benefits to a Legend’s toolkit whenever certain conditions are met. Although these benefits often appear small, these Perks can become especially deadly at the hands of someone who knows exactly how to use them alongside Bangalore’s base kit.

Forward March

Bangalore - Aiming at an enemy while smoked

One of the more annoying aspects of Bangalore’s kit is using her Smoke Launcher (Tactical), since her smoke walls block sight. If she has a Bloodhound teammate, his Tactical can reveal opponents, but this is a potential waste of a combat ability that could be used in more intense combat situations. Thankfully, Forward March can help Bangalore in this regard, as this Perk can reveal opponents inside smoke walls whenever Bangalore uses ADS.

This heavily incentivizes offensive Bangalore builds, as Bangalore can easily ambush an enemy after deploying her smoke canister. Alternatively, a sniper Bangalore can make use of a smoke wall and eliminate opponents while the enemies have no idea what’s going on around them.

Tactical Advantage

Bangalore doing her finisher

It’s always awesome to see characters use their Finishers, since this is a cool display that both players and their prey can see. However, using a Finisher does leave Legends vulnerable for attack. In the case of Bangalore, being knocked down while doing a Finisher might be especially embarrassing. However, Tactical Advantage allows Bangalore to have a safety net when doing Finishers in open areas.

Through this Perk, Bangalore gets a free refresh of her Tactical after a Finisher. This means Bangalore can quickly deploy a smoke wall if she finds herself attacked during a Finisher. When combined with Forward March (Perk) that allows her to see enemies in smoke, Bangalore can punish anyone who dares interrupt her while she’s having a good time.

Gridiron Haze

Aiming the Smoke Launcher

Bangalore has three rounds of her smoke walls at her disposal at any given time, and these rounds slowly regenerate as soon as she uses them. Three rounds seems more than enough for Bangalore to have flexibility with her plays. After all, she can deploy one smoke to start an ambush, another to reposition in the middle of the fight, and one more to escape if a third party appears.

However, Gridiron Haze gives Bangalore a fourth round in her Smoke Launcher, which can drastically affect the state of play in the game. This essentially allows Bangalore to make more minute decisions in the game without worrying about her kit. She can use this extra smoke wall to give extra space for escapes, or to interrupt enemy approaches by blocking sight to whichever direction enemies are headed.

Weapon Loadout: Straightforward Works

Bangalore aiming at an opponent

Thanks to the more accessible controls of Apex Mobile, using Bangalore will give a feeling similar to that of popular FPS titles for mobile platforms. Considering Bangalore’s offensive toolkit, weapons for Bangalore include those with reliable firing rate and clip sizes to ensure she always packs a bang for her buck and never gets caught off-guard.

Primary: R-301 Carbine (Assault Rifle, Light)

R301

For someone like Bangalore who excels in roaming around the battlefield to catch enemies, the R-301 Carbine is a readily-dependable Light Assault Rifle. Aside from being perhaps the best Assault Rifle in the base game, the R-301 also makes use of Light Rounds that are easily found in the battlefield.

At the hands of Bangalore, the quick firing rate and the dependable spray fire easily makes the R-301 the best fit for her aggressive toolkit.

Secondary: R-99 (SMG, Light)

R99

When Bangalore finds herself jumped in close range, she can easily whip out the R-99 and blow up everyone to smithereens. Pairing this with the R-301 means Bangalore shouldn’t have to worry about a secondary ammo type, since they both use Light Ammo.

Not only that, but the fast firing rate and dependable recoil can make the R-99 a handy close-ranged weapon for chasing opponents.
