The latest seasonal update to Respawn Entertainment's battle royale Apex Legends, Fortune's Favor, included a bug with hit registration that the developers have been focused on fixing. However, more importantly it added new content for players, such as changes across the King's Canyon map and a brand new Legend to utilize named Loba who just received the season's first Twitch Prime-exclusive alternate skin.

By linking their Twitch Prime accounts to the game, Apex Legends players have been able to receive a special skin once a month. At the beginning of Season 4 a "Gilded Rose" Revenant skin was available to celebrate his release as a new Legend, and now Loba has gotten the same treatment with a "Game Master" skin that puts her in a teal-and-gold outfit complete with plenty of brown leather.

According to the official Apex Legends Twitter account, this skin allowing players to "dress to kill" will be available through June 18, 2020. It follows up on a special "Forgotten in the Void" skin for Wraith that was available throughout the Twitch Prime period between April and May.

Beyond the aforementioned bug which seems to have hit many Apex Legends players, the game's Season 5 launch appears to have gone relatively well for Respawn Entertainment as far as appeasing fans goes. New long-form content like a massive treasure hunt alongside changes to maps with new mechanics like Charge Towers have offered more reasons to return to the game as many are stuck at home due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

That said, not all of the changes have been quite as positively received. Many players have taken issue with nerfs applied to Pathfinder, a fan-favorite character, which were applied among various other nerfs and buffs to characters like Mirage meant to balance the roster. Pathfinder's nerf was relatively big all things considered, as it increased his grappling hook cooldown from 15 to 35 seconds.

However, for a game like Apex Legends to stay relevant, it has to keep updating itself to follow the ebbs and flows of its ongoing metagame. The addition of new skins for characters like Loba likely also helps keep the attention of the game's fanbase, and utilizing Twitch Prime to release it is a tactic also seen for characters like Doomguy in Doom Eternal who recently got a "Mullet Slayer" skin.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
