The tenth season of Apex Legends is drawing to a close. The season included a new playable character, a new battle pass, and huge changes to the World's Edge map. Respawn is looking to turn up the heat with even more content, as there will be Halloween-themed cosmetics and maps coming to Apex Legends later this month. However, it also happens to be the last season that one of the lead designers of the game, Chin Xiang Chong, will be working on.

Chin Xiang Chong joined Respawn Enterntainment in 2012, and was a lead live team designer in many of the company's games. This included having a big hand in designing the combat of Titanfall and its sequel Titanfall 2, especially regarding the Rodeo features in both games. In regards to his work on Apex Legends, he was responsible for the being the designer of the game's ranked system, as well as being the lead on its Live team. This includes ensuring the smooth operation of the game and its consistent content update rollouts. After nine years at the company, Chong has left Respawn Entertainment.

This announcement went up on Chong's twitter account, with him noting that he was choking up by the fact he would be leaving the team behind as they continue their work on Apex Legends. He thanked his team for their hard work in maintaining and bringing more content for the game. He also showed appreciation to many players of the game, too, with a special message in a separate tweet in the thread acknowledging the game's loyal community.

Many different members of the Apex Legends team then congratulated Chong on his many accomplishments, as well as praised his leadership during his time as the lead. He personally thanked many of the developers that had replied to his tweet, with many of them wishing Chong luck in his future endeavors. Chong also thanked many of the fans in Japan who also loved playing Apex Legends, such as Japanese artist dame, who replied to the announcement with a heartwarming drawing of Wattson.

As Chong leaves his position at Respawn Entertainment, it leaves the door open for someone else to take the reins regarding the future content of Apex Legends. As for his future position, he didn't state which company that he'd be going to. Still, considering Chong's past accolades and accomplishments, along with him being a passionate game developer, the next game he'll be a part of should be worth keeping an eye on.
