Recently, Apex Legends received its first new gun addition in the form of the Havoc Assault Rifle. Now, thanks to the code files for it and the L-Star LMG, we may now know when the L-Star will appear in the game as well, which may very well occur before the official start of season one.

For the uninitiated, the addition of these two weapons has been known for some time. Fans are now getting to enjoy the Havoc in-game, but the L-Star is still a no show. In Titanfall 2, it was a rapid fire LMG that used energy ammo, and it seems that it will have a 60-shot clip and overheat if used for too long in Apex Legends. This should hopefully do much to add some more variety to the meta.

In the game files, both guns had an associated number with it. The Havoc's number was 20, and the L-Star's was 30. Because the Havoc AR launched on February 20, it's not a stretch to assume those numbers deal with release dates. Nevertheless, take this information with a grain of salt.

These numbers would suggest that the L-Star would launch 10 days after, but considering there is no such thing as February 30, this would mean Saturday, March 2. Of course, even if this number theory is correct, this date could be delayed at the discretion of developer Respawn Entertainment for one reason or another. What comes next to Apex Legends remains to be seen, but many players are hoping to see some new characters join alongside these weapons.

According to another data mine of Apex Legends' game files, the first new character could be joining the roster of Legends a little later on March 25. All of this goes to show that despite Apex being one of the most refined battle royale titles to hit the market, leaks are common in this genre. If nothing else, though, this serves to drive hype behind the game.

Apex Legends is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
