Respawn Entertainment has released a hotfix for Team Deathmatch in Apex Legends. This patch for the LTM comes after players discovered that the mode has an issue with early leavers. While the introduction of Team Deathmatch was supposed to be one of the highlights of the launch of Season 16 of Apex Legends, it has been underwhelming for many players due to this issue. Since the release of the LTM in Apex Legends, numerous players have taken to social media to express their frustrations with the mode. According to one Reddit user named Nobat211, they had played multiple matches where players would leave once their team began losing. This was only one example, as their Reddit post has accumulated over 6K upvotes. Early leavers obviously ruin the enjoyment of the mode for many Apex Legends players, as it makes for an unfair matchup and slows down the pace of what is intended to be a chaotic LTM. To make matters worse, players discovered that matches continued even if everyone on one of the teams quit early.RELATED: Apex Legends Fans Divided Over Team Deathmatch FeatureFortunately, Respawn Entertainment has responded to the community's complaints and released a hotfix to improve Team Deathmatch in Apex Legends. According to the developer, the games of the LTM felt too long, and as a result, they have been shortened to one round from best out of three. To account for the reduced number of rounds, the number of kills necessary to win the now single-round mode has been increased from 30 to 50. It is worth noting that the UI will not accurately reflect the reduction in rounds until a future update.

It will be interesting to see how this change impacts Team Deathmatch moving forward. While the shorter duration could prevent more players from leaving, it might not be enough. Fortunately, Respawn noted that further changes to the game mode would be coming down the line. Based on the tweet from the developer, some future quality-of-life improvements include ending matches when everyone on one team leaves and introducing a penalty for leaving early, similar to what is found in the Control LTM for Apex Legends.

As the marketing for Season 16 of Apex Legends has indicated, the release of the Team Deathmatch mode for Apex Legends was meant to be one of this update's significant highlights. This was especially so, considering this is the first new season to launch without a new Legend. Unfortunately, the problems with early leavers in the new LTM have understandably been frustrating for many players, especially since this type of mode has been wanted for a while now. Hopefully, Respawn Entertainment will be able to continue to make adjustments to Team Deathmatch based on feedback from the community to make it everything fans hoped it would be.

Apex Legends is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
