Season 11 of Apex Legends has been out for roughly a month now. From the new Storm Point map to the CAR SMG, Respawn Entertainment has added a lot to keep the experience fresh. However, it appears that the developer wants to keep the new content flowing, as it has revealed that a new event is coming to the battle royale.

Recently, Respawn announced that the Raiders Collection Event for Apex Legends was coming. According to the developer, the festivities start on December 7 and run until December 21. In addition to the classic Winter Express LTM, this new event looks to give many of the Legends a pirate-themed makeover. However, one of the main highlights for many fans is the introduction of an original heirloom.

Among the new content revealed for the event, perhaps the most exciting item is an heirloom for Wattson. As a fan-favorite character, many members of the Apex Legends community have asked for the Legend to receive an heirloom in the past. Known as the “Energy Reader,” the electronic device has a unique appearance as it contains a control panel with a small digital screen. At the front of the device, four metal prongs emit an electrical charge.

Those interested in obtaining the heirloom have two options, although neither is easy. One way fans can pick up the collectible is by unlocking the 24 other items available during the event. Unfortunately, this can only be done through spending a lot of money on event packs. The other option is to use heirloom shards to purchase the “Energy Reader.” As one might expect, the likelihood of this is low, as heirloom shards are extremely rare to find through opening packs.

It’s exciting for Wattson fans to finally be receiving some love. Besides becoming the next Legend to receive an heirloom, the developers gave her abilities a buff at the start of Season 11. This recent update improved her Interception Pylon, as the ultimate now recharges the shields of those nearby twice as fast as before. In addition, energy nodes for her electric fencing recharge at a quicker rate, and they do more damage as well.

In addition to this new heirloom, the Raiders Collection Event brings a number of new legendary skins to Apex Legends. Among the characters receiving a new look are Revenant, Bloodhound, Wattson, Pathfinder, Loba, Wraith, and Valkyrie. In accordance with the Pirate theme for the event, each of these new cosmetics features a swashbuckling appearance.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
