Apex Legends has kicked off Season 6 and many players are enjoying the new features that have been added to the game. Alongside new weapons and elements that impact the strategy of each match, a new character has been introduced. Rampart brings new elements to Apex Legends with her special abilities which include a turret as well as amped cover. The amped cover can be utilized in many ways but there are some scenarios where it will give players a major advantage.
While the battle royale genre is saturated, Apex Legends has managed to entertain audiences through its engaging gameplay that allows players to use different characters to earn themselves an advantageous position in the game. Rampart allows players to do this by putting up an amp cover to either protect themselves or enclose an enemy and, alongside the special ability of a turret called Sheila, the character can do some serious damage when used tactically.
Firstly, players can use the amp cover to trap players and allow them to be cornered with no way to return fire. This is a particularly effective use of the amp cover although, the only danger is players using characters like Wattson to counter it. Secondly, players can use the ability to climb to higher spots. Players simply need to jump on top of the amp cover to get a footing to jump even higher and gain an advantage on the players below. There are also weapons that Rampart can use in Apex Legends which will boost the effectiveness of both the character and the cover.
The amped cover gives a boost to weapons and if players can find the Peacekeeper, Kraber, or Mastiff then they should be able to beat opponents effectively because of the added firepower. The Charge Rifle also gets a pretty significant boost from the deployment of the cover. There are plenty of ways to leverage the skills of Rampart but using the cover to pin, get to high ground, and boost already impressive weaponry is a sure way to get the best out of the character and their abilities.
The latest addition to Apex Legends has added to the roster and gameplay of the widely enjoyed game. It will be interesting to see if players manage to utilize Rampart in unconventional ways to win battles, but for now, these methods should boost the chances of most players.
Apex Legends is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version in development.
