After a string of hints and teases from developers at Respawn, one Apex Legend player has finally uncovered the secret easter egg that was hidden in the game's brand new Firing Range game mode. This new game mode lets players load in and test various weapons, attachments, and legends without having to dive into public lobbies, and it apparently had one final easter egg that players had not discovered. Respawn developers had hinted at the hidden easter egg during the latest developer livestream, and now one player on Reddit has finally uncovered the mystery.

It's no surprise that players had not found the hidden Apex Legends easter egg until now because the steps to unlock it are pretty bizarre. Reddit user Maddazefc posted a clip to Reddit showing off how to unlock this great easter egg. Once players load into the Firing Range (solo or with a squad), one player must unequip all weapons and head to the tunnel located on the far left side (if facing the targeting dummies). Once in the tunnel, players will need to climb on top of the metal platform suspended from the ceiling, likely by switching to Pathfinder. Once up there, players must crouch, face the ground while at the front of the platform, and switch to another legend. If done correctly, players will hear a metallic sound indicating the easter egg is now active.

This easter egg replaces the standard targeting dummies with aggressive dummies that will move around and fight back. They can spawn with body shields, and each tier of dummy wields a different weapon. The white body shield dummies have a Hemlock, the Blue have a Peacekeeper, and the Purple have an L-Star. Even though the Peacekeeper was nerfed recently, the Peacekeeper dummy is perhaps still the most lethal but players will be able to practice taking on Peacekeeper-wielding targets now in the Firing Range.

The past two days of Apex Legends have been a bit turbulent, especially for console players. The new update that increases player level cap was pushed live on PC yesterday, but was delayed on console due to a performance bug. Thankfully the update is finally live and players can start working to level up once again to earn free Apex packs. Those that were already at Level 100 (the previous level cap) will be pleased to hear that when they log in they will have 14 Apex packs waiting for them.

While part of the Apex Legend community has been busy trying to find the final easter egg, others have been arguing over skill-based matchmaking, which some fans believe is ruining the casual mode of the game. While there are players that fall on both sides of the argument, it seems that for the time being SBMM is here to stay, but that will hopefully not take away from the increased leveling system that came with the new update or the upcoming event that is scheduled to launch sometime this month.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
