Apex Legends is in the middle of Season 7, and the Holo-Day Bash Event is coming to a close. The Holo-Day Bash Event featured winter cosmetics, the Winter Express LTM, and some festive changes to the map. Now, another event is already gearing up to start on January 5. The Fight Night Collection Event will introduce a unique Pathfinder Town Takeover, a brand-new LTM, and will feature a boxing match challenge.

The Apex Legends Fight Night Collection Event will also feature some changes to legends. Most changes are bug fixes, including Wraith's portal being destroyed by Tridents, Bloodhound's UI disappearing after using Horizon's Grav Lift, and Horizon's Grav Lift being unable to affect Lifeline's DOC and Crypto's drone. However, one legend's bug fix seems more like an ability buff.

Mirage's decoys will now have audible footsteps. Previously, any decoy sent out by Mirage would not make any sounds, which would allow other players to hear the real Mirage. However, his abilities have already been majorly buffed with the change that allows him to control decoys. Now, with decoys making audible footsteps, it may result in much more bamboozling.

Mirage may not be the most overpowered legend, but the bug fix could move him closer to that status. Apex Legends developer Daniel Klein said last month that Mirage will likely never be "top-tier" because his abilities would become confusing and unfair to lower-skilled players. The comment received substantial backlash from fans, but the new bug fix may be a change that boosts Mirage up the tier list.

Although most major buffs and nerfs come at the beginning of the season or at the midpoint, the Fight Night Collection Event will grant major buffs to two legends who are considered underpowered. Season 6 legend Rampart is receiving a buff that will reduce her Amped Cover ability cooldown from 30 seconds to 20 seconds. However, her Amped Cover ability previously had major flaws, as players struggled to place the shield even in open areas.

Caustic is also receiving a major buff that will decrease his Gas Trap ability cooldown from 25 to 20 seconds. Although the maximum amount of traps available remains the same, the cooldown will enable Caustic to store traps at a much faster pace, making him more viable in drawn-out firefights. All the bug fixes and buffs will be implemented on January 5 along with some exciting new content in the Fight Night Collection Event.

Apex Legends is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version also in development.
