Apex Legends Emergence, the game's tenth season, is drawing to a close, which means the next season is about to start and the hype train is moving at full speed. Last week fans got a first look at Apex Legends Escape, in the form of a Stories from the Outlands trailer that set the stage for the conflict to come surrounding the new Legend, Ash, and Horizon.

The video centered on Horizon parsing through Ash's memories in an attempt to find out more about her son's whereabouts. This meddling resulted in Ash's less cold and calculating side reemerging, which sets the stage for her own internal conflict that may lead to some form of resolution for other characters like Horizon and Pathfinder, whose backstories are both inextricably linked with Ash.

Now, Respawn Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer highlighting the new Legend, map, weapon, and PvE enemies coming to Apex Legends in Escape. Ash, the newest contender in the Apex games, is a cold-blooded simulacrum (similar to Revenant) and her kit matches her aggressive personality. Ash's passive, Marked for Death, shows the location of recent deathboxes and marks surviving attackers.

Recent leaks have suggested that players must first interact with those deathboxes to reveal the survivors' locations, but it is still unknown exactly how the passive will work in-game. Her tactical ability is Arc Snare, a spinning throwable snare that damages and tethers the first enemy who gets too close, and her ultimate is Phase Breach, which allows her to "tear open a one-way portal to a targeted location."

The new map, Storm Point, is a tropical island on the planet Gaea. It features Gravity Cannons instead of redeploy balloons, for the most part, which allow players full control of weapons, grenades, tacticals, and ultimates when traveling through the air. Although these Gravity Cannons take players to predetermined destinations, players can land to the sides of the receiving points of them to avoid traps or enemies. When Storm Point launches with the new season on November 2, it will be the largest map in Apex Legends beating out World's Edge. The developers have said the map is about 15% larger than World's Edge.

The trailer also shows off the C.A.R. SMG, capable of shooting both light and heavy ammo. No other weapon can use more than one ammo type at this point, so the C.A.R. will hold a unique spot in Apex Legends' weapon meta.

Lastly, the trailer also shows that Storm Point will be filled with Prowlers, Flyers, and Spiders. Spiders and Prowlers will be confined to their Wildlife Nests in areas that stay the same each game. Killing these enemies rewards the players with smart loot drops, meaning attachments will drop based on squad loadouts, EVO shield progress, and crafting materials upon the clearing of a whole nest. Flyers will function the same as they do on King's Canyon, dropping a loot-filled deathbox when fired upon, but now they will also contribute to EVO shield damage.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
