Apex Legends features a stable of diverse legends for players to jump into the battle royale with, each with their own abilities and personalities. Of course, this has led to the legends being constantly tweaked and adjusted over Apex Legends' lifespan to make sure that none are too over or underpowered.

Apex Legends also recently launched Season 9, which brought with it a total rework of one of Apex Legends' original legends, Lifeline. Lifeline is Apex Legends' healer and has always been a solid pick in the game because of her utility to support any squad composition. However, the rework has seen her become an even more consistent pick, especially in Apex Legends' new 3v3 Arenas mode.

In a recent developer AMA on the game's subreddit, developer Daniel Klein answered a fan question regarding Lifeline's performance after the Season 9 rework saying that the team may have made her overpowered. Klein looks at two categories to determine how well she is performing, both numerically as well as the experience for players. Numerically, Klein says that she has a very high win and pick rate, especially when it comes to Apex Legends' Arenas mode. Klein does clarify, however, that those numbers do not mean the team has to nerf her changes.

Klein does say that experientially, however, Lifeline is in a great place in Apex Legends Season 9. They say that they think the changes landed very well and that it feels better both to play as Lifeline as well as against Lifeline. With that being said, Klein says that for right now the development team has no plans to tweak Lifeline's rework. Although, they do acknowledge that the team might eventually have to nerf Lifeline just slightly whether it be by tweaking some of her ability cooldowns, or checking her hitboxes to make sure that they aren't too small in any places.

The comments on the post responding to Klein's comments are largely in agreement with them. It's great to see the character's rework being so well received by the community and the developers alike. It will be interesting to see if Lifeline does receive any further tweaks, or what other changes legends will receive. Hopefully, the rest of Apex Legends Season 9's planned updates are received just as well as Lifeline's rework, as the developers continue to release new content for the game and try to address the game's hackers and leavers.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
