Fans of Apex Legends finally get a look at the latest character, Crypto, who will soon make his way onto the game's roster. The leaked Apex Legends image shows the character's concept art illustration, fitting similar showcases of Octane and Wattson, and some other new details about the game also leaked alongside the image.

Respawn has been teasing Crypto for a while now, but it hasn't dropped a ton of official news on the character yet. He has popped up in the game's lore and was even seen in the season 2 trailer, but the developer has not confirmed his release. In mid-August, some data miners got their hands on Crypto's abilities in Apex Legends, but fans still had not seen the character's actual design.

Now, thanks to a leak from an Apex Legends briefing at this week's Gamestop Con, players get their first look at the art for Crypto. The character wears a huge green and white parka with a tall collar. He has what looks like either a tattoo or some kind of cybernetic enhancement running from his neck up to his lower jaw. His clothes seem to have wires running along them.

The leak also reveals some other interesting tidbits such as a potential new charge rifle weapon and a new skin for Gibraltar that makes him look like Frankenstein, which will most likely coincide with a Halloween event. Finally, the leak showed off some images of a boxed version of the game that Respawn will sell at retail which most likely includes digital codes for extra goodies.

A datamine recently revealed the abilities for another upcoming Apex Legends character Jericho, though his release is likely far off. It seems Respawn has a commitment to building up the roster ad to the ongoing support of the free-to-play game.

With season 2 wrapping up, Respawn finds itself on the opposite side of a rough patch. The Apex Legends Iron Crown event skin debacle made players feel cheated at best and insulted at worst. So, the addition of some new characters and weapons might give the game the edge it needs to encourage lapsed or frustrated players to come back.

Apex Legends is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
