The maps in Apex Legends have their own distinct characteristics, they can help players get better, aggressive, and in turn, make them highly adaptable to any style of play. Each map has strengths and weaknesses and each focus on different things. For example, the Olympus map, which has tons of wide open spaces, allows players to be snipers, and World’s Edge gives them a chance to be closer to enemies. As players drop into season 15, they can expect a ton of new things, like a new legend, but more importantly, the first new map in over a year called, Broken Moon.
Broken Moon changes the overall metal of the game, much like other maps, a trait that has made Apex Legends one of the best battle royals on an Xbox console. However, unlike the other maps, Broken Moon has areas that are vastly different from one another. One part of the map can have the moon's terrain, and another will have lush green fields. Because of that, adapting to this new map can be hard. However, if players use these tips, adjusting to Broken Moon's layout becomes easier.
5 Third Partying
This move in the Broken Moon map is surprisingly easy to do. For players who don't understand this term, in Apex Legends, two teams can fight, and a third can come in and finish the job of taking down either one weakened team or both. Broken Moon is in that perfect middle ground between Olympus and Kings Canyon, so sneaking behind two teams fighting, or sniping from a distance is something that can be done easier here. This can be done with legends like Vantage, who can make it rather easy to snipe.
It allows a bunch of ways to play if they want to be this aggressive, plus with the many types of weapons they can use, third partying becomes a high-risk-high-reward type of gameplay. Teams who run this strategy will be pleased to know that because there are not many open spaces, they can catch teams fighting, and take them out in secret. However, as mentioned before, there are a lot of high-risk-high-reward types of gameplay, and third partying is something that should be done a few times since other teams will do it to them as well.
4 Play In The Terraformer
One of the biggest points of interest in the Broken Moon map is that it has three wings all of which can allow other teams to sneak up on players. This alone makes gameplay super exciting and allows players to figure out better ways on defending themselves. A lot of Broken Moon is high-risk-high-reward, and this terraformer highlights just that. Because there is so much high-quality loot around, it would be not smart to go there. Plus, with the many legends in Apex Legends, only a few can hold their own in this POI, so the player's team composition matters, and picking one of the better ones will always help.
If they have a well-rounded team, then defending themselves will be easier. But, at the same time, they should note that this POI is a honeycomb, meaning many other players will hot drop in this area. So when going there, they should expect a fight. In order to survive, it's best that the team takes a higher ground, which in turn gives the player and their team a 360 view of this POI.
3 Utilizing Cover
This is now more important than ever, but also something that can be done easier on Broken Moon. As mentioned before, this map is Goldilocks between Olympus and Kings Canyon. Meaning, the open space of one, and the shelter of the other. Broken Moon allows players to be more adaptive and dynamic with how they fight, and in turn, makes them better players. But this tip makes players survive longer and can help counter a team third partying them. All this makes Apex Legends one of the best survival games out there because players need to change how they play based on the situation.
Plus, depending on the team composition, which can be rather interesting for this map, the cover and shelter can be the team's best friend. But at the same time, it may leave them out in the open, allowing enemy teams to flank them. So while using cover is important, it's even more important to move from cover to cover, this way the enemy team is forced to move, leaving them out in the open, and making them easy targets for any other team in the area.
2 Ziprail
These are new to Apex Legends and pretty much exclusive to Broken Moon. On other maps, like World's Edge, players would use Pathfinder's ability that would launch a zip line giving the team an escape plan. For Broken Moon, it's a different story. There are long ziprails that act as the ballon line which launches players upwards, outlining the map and take players from POI to POI. So, traversing this map is quite efficient.
If players don't have a highly mobile legend, these ziprails can accommodate for that. Plus, these rails allow players to run and gun, making them more of a threat. Players should fight near them because when things get too hot, they can use them and quickly get out. However, while on these rails, they should watch out for enemies, because they can be seen by all teams while traveling. This can cause other teams to follow them.
1 Resetting
This is just as important as third partying because right after players do that, they can head to a building or cover, and recover from the fight. The more they do this, the higher the chance they have of winning the match. Resetting means after a fight, players head somewhere safe and restock their ammo, health, and armor. This gives the team a chance to plan another attack, or hold a position longer. When mixing all the other tips on this list, resetting becomes more worthwhile, and when players go into a fight after they restock, winning becomes much more tangible.
On top of that, Broken Moon gives more chances to players to reset, since as mentioned before, there's so much cover scattered throughout the map. So unless they're being third-partied, or being followed, players and their teams can be effective this way. It is a good idea to be calm after a fight, because in a game like Apex Legends, losing composure means losing the match, this helps keep the pressure at a low.
