Earlier today, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment announced a new collection event for Apex Legends, dubbed Awakening. This event is bringing back the beloved Control LTM, introducing a new Town Takeover called Lifeline’s Clinic, and bringing in a ton of new skins to collect.

As with past Collection Events in Apex Legends, there is a new Heirloom item listed if players pick up every skin, and this one is for Valkyrie. It is called Suzaku and it is a spear, tying back to her heritage and her “Valkyrie”-like elements too. Among others like Horizon and Loba, the recon legend Seer is getting a new skin, and it might look pretty familiar to Power Rangers fans.

Apex Legends: Seer, The Green Power Ranger

It’s obviously not a 1:1 recreation, but Seer’s event skin looks a lot like a Green Power Ranger. Part of it is because his traditional hat is replaced with a helmet (with the rim of his hat rotating around it), and the green helmet paired with a unique visor looks like a Power Ranger helmet. Furthermore, Power Rangers usually have some symbol or special element to their chest piece, and that’s where Seer stores his drones. In other words, his chest piece would fit perfectly for a Green Power Ranger too.

Seer’s Green Power Ranger-like Skin can be seen around the 15-second mark below.

The rest of the outfit falls into place, with the white highlights, golden trims, and obviously green presence all looking like some version of a green ranger. One could argue that this would be more of a Power Rangers set in a space-style suit than, say, the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, but it’s hard not to look at Seer and see a Green Ranger in this outfit.

What’s perhaps even more interesting is that Seer is not alone. Last summer, Apex Legends released a new skin for Horizon that looks a lot like the villain Trakeena from the Power Rangers. The daughter of Scorpius, Trakeena’s outfit has a ton of bug-like features, and there’s a Horizon skin that adopts very similar features. It’s unlikely Respawn Entertainment is setting out to draw these comparisons, but it does show how wide a net was cast when it came to Power Rangers designs.

As the old saying goes, of course, two’s a coincidence, three’s a pattern. If fans happen upon a third Apex Legends skin that seemingly takes inspiration from the Power Rangers, it may just be that it is intentional. It is certainly cool, nonetheless.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
