A new chapter in Apex Legends is just around the corner, with Season 7 expected to begin on November 10. While players are excited for everything new that is coming to Apex Legends with Season 7, it appears now that there's a new mode coming to the game alongside a potential return of Skull Town. To be more specific, this rumor claims that Respawn will be adding an "Arena" mode to the game.

The report comes from a prominent Apex Legends dataminer called Shrugtal, who claims that the files of the game's 6.1 patch added code to support UI slots on the "Play" menu of this alleged Arena Mode. Moreover, Shrugtal speculates that it is possible that this discovery could mean the addition of a new smaller mode that would allow players to warm up and train before heading into the game proper. Interestingly enough, the leaker mentioned that EA and Respawn did mention in the past that they wanted to bring Skull Town back, and Shrungral continued with their speculation saying, "Maybe this is the solution, for example, a Skull Town-only' map with a handful of Squads?"

Players should note that Respawn Entertainment still hasn't announced any plans for a new Arena Mode in Apex Legends. Given this, players should take this discovery with a grain of salt, but it is worth remembering that Apex Legends players have long been asking for something like this in the game for quite some time now. Of course,  assuming that any of this is true, it's interesting to see whether this rumored Arena Mode will be added in time for Season 7's release this November or at a later date.

Meanwhile, the hype continues to build as Apex Legends prepares for the launch of Season 7 in a few weeks. As a result of its player base's excitement, one eager fan recently created a trailer that features Pathfinder, who is undoubtedly one of the wholesome members of Apex Legends' cast. The fan-made trailer begins in a dimly-lit workshop where a friendly Pathfinder comes to life only to find out that no one is around, not even his creator. A mysterious note with the name "Marvin" suddenly appeared, which became the Pathfinders' only clue to his origin or purpose.

Of course, it is worth remembering that Respawn Entertainment received criticism when it did not show any intention of adding Marvin's creator Forge as a Legend in Season 7. However, Daniel Klein, a game designer at Respawn, explained that Forge could never work in Apex Legends, given that he is a melee character, and Respawn cannot have him in a gun game and be both "impactful and healthy for the core combat loop of the game."

Apex Legends is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
