Apex Legends has just released the second Anniversary Collection as Season 8's first event. Upon logging in, players will receive three Bangalore stat trackers that display her first-ever concept art, and also receive a second-anniversary badge. Players will also notice a few changes to the game including the Anniversary Collection challenges, exclusive offers in the shop, and a new limited-time mode. As of now, the second Anniversary Collection event will run now until February 23.

The second Apex Legends Anniversary Collection event features new cosmetics and as a new addition to Collection events, all limited-time cosmetics are available to unlock with the Event Apex Packs, Apex Coins, or crafting metals. This is the first time that Collection event cosmetics have been available for crafting metals, so even more players will be able to unlock the Anniversary skins without spending real money. The Anniversary skins feature a lot of recolored skins, but many are based around a sleek red and gold color scheme.

The Anniversary Collection event features 12 Legendary skins, six epic skins, and six weapon skins to collect, and if players are able to secure every cosmetic, 150 Heirloom Shards will be rewarded, giving players a choice at any character Heirloom. The cosmetics seem very impressive, but the reward of an Heirloom may get players truly excited.

Along with the Heirloom Shard reward, the Anniversary Collection event also adds extended challenges running for a whopping 12 weeks and featuring achievements like "Win once with eight different legends" and "Deal 3333 damage with the Mozambique." These challenges will require some grinding but will award rare badges and a weapon charm.

The Locked and Loaded LTM is making a return during the Anniversary event. During the LTM takeover, players will drop into the map with a basic loadout that includes a Mozambique shotgun, a white shotgun pump, white shield, helmet, and knockdown shield, as well as two syringes and two shield cells. This LTM will make players look twice before landing, as the action will start as soon as they touch the ground.

Unfortunately, since the event will only run until February 23, Nintendo Switch players will miss out on the cosmetics and LTM, but might be able to complete the extended event challenges that will be around for 12 weeks. Apex Legends for Nintendo Switch will launch on March 9, and will be able to play with all platforms on day one. Although Switch players will miss the current event, a Caustic Town Takeover will supposedly launch after the Anniversary event.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and releases for Nintendo Switch on March 9.
