Following the culmination of last weekend's Apex Legends Global Series Championship, EA has turned its sights back on the casual side of Apex Legends. The newest event will see crossovers from fan favorite animes and the return of the Armed and Dangerous LTM mode.EA and developer Respawn entertainment have just announced The Gaiden Event coming to Apex Legends on July 19. Much like the Awakening Collection Event, this event will have plenty of cosmetics up for grabs with a Mythic skin for players who obtain all the themed cosmetics.RELATED: Apex Legends Pro ImperialHal Refuses to Kill Disconnected Player During $2 Million ALGS ChampionshipIn a post, EA details what to expect with this event as it will bring over 40 event themed cosmetics. No trailer has been released yet, but from the post, players can see a Monkey D. Luffy themed Octane skin, a Jonin inspired outfit for Wattson and a My Hero Academia themed skin for Mirage. Instead of an heirloom being up for grabs upon completion of the event, players will be awarded the Bangalore "Apex Commander" Prestige skin similar to the Third Anniversary Collection Event introducing the Bloodhound skin.

Alongside the new event, players will get to experience the Armed and Dangerous LTM on World’s Edge, Olympus, and Storm Point. This mode tasks players with winning the match with snipers and shotguns only while providing common rarity armor. There will also be two rotating reward tracks to complete through in game challenges during the duration of the event. Both tracks will grant players stars to aid the completion of the battle pass, a Fuse skin for fans of the ordinance themed Legend, and an event themed pack with the completion of the second week's reward track.

The Gaiden timed event starts July 19 and ends on August 2. Too much relief, once the event ends, the cosmetics will be added to the standard Apex Pack pool. They'll also be available to craft with earned crafting metals with the price of the skins subject to change after two seasons according to EA's event post.

The response on the newest event has been semi positive. Seeing Apex Legends go completely off the wall with this anime inspired crossover event has some anime fans excited although the return of Armed and Dangerous versus the fan favorite 9v9 Control mode doesn't have some fans excited. No patch notes have been released yet, and with some Apex Legends' players threatening to strike, gamers can only hope some massive fixes are inbound with the event.

Apex Legends is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
