Apex Legends has a very unique roster of characters to choose from when diving into the popular battle royale game. However, it seems that not all characters are created equal in Apex Legends. According to a new test conducted by one keen-eyed Reddit user, it seems that certain characters have deceptively large hitboxes, making them much easier targets when fighting to become the champion.

While it makes sense for larger characters to have bigger hitboxes, Pathfinder is perhaps one of the thinnest characters in the game. Reddit user Wpns_Grade opened up Apex Legends' training mode and tested the hitbox for both Bloodhound and Pathfinder, and found that Pathfinder's hitbox was deceptively larger than the character model.

During the test, Wpns_Grade used one of the weapons available in training to test the bounds of the hitbox for both Pathfinder and Bloodhound, and it is very apparent that the two do not have the same fidelity to their character model. While Bloodhound's hitbox is nearly identical to his model, Pathfinder has several spots where bullets will make contact even though it would appear that the shot should miss. With a larger hitbox, it would be much more difficult to rack up a large amount of kills when shots are hitting Pathfinder when they should miss.

While it's not as easy to confirm if this is true during an actual match, presumably the same model is used for both modes, so Pathfinder mains are at a bit of a disadvantage. Bloodhound mains, however, have a much better chance at survival it seems. This could be fixed by Respawn soon, but as of the time of writing there has been no word from the developer. Hopefully, the upcoming characters will have cleaner hitboxes than poor Pathfinder.

Respawn has been on top of bug fixes and adjustments for Apex Legends so far, but since this isn't a game-breaking issue it may be put on hold until more pressing issues are resolved. In practice, it is not clear how much of a difference this hitbox bug would make, but for the time being it seems like Pathfinder will be nearly as easy to hit as some of the larger characters like Gibraltar and Caustic.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
