One pressing question is in the minds of so many excited Anthem fans: how do I acquire all those incredible suits? Anthem's mech suits, dubbed Javelins, are a core feature in the online multiplayer shooter-RPG. Four different Javelins will be available in-game at launch and they'll each be even more customizable than the player character themself. But only one Javelin, the Ranger, will be available at the start of the game. Anthem's other three launch Javelins will require a bit more effort to obtain.

BioWare executive producer for Anthem Mark Darrah is answering an incredible amount of questions regarding the game on Twitter. The latest interesting bit of information he's dropped is with regards to how players will acquire Javelins. According to Darrah, players will acquire the additional three Javelin suits through playing Anthem's story missions, but that's just the start of it.

Darrah goes on to say that the order by which players will acquire the three remaining Javelins will be up to the player. They'll unlock based on the "order you do certain missions," implying a non-linear mission structure for Anthem's story that hasn't been mentioned before. It's not clear on whether these Javelin unlock missions will be optional, or if players will necessarily even be aware of which suit they're unlocking when they pick up the right mission. There's plenty left for BioWare to explain.

Four Javelins are planned for the launch of Anthem, all acquired through the game's story, but the future of the online multiplayer game is entirely up in the air. Mark Darrah has previously said that BioWare considering releasing future Javelins as DLC, just as a possible example of premium content. That seems like something that won't go over well with fans, however. Especially so if the stories that lead to new Javelins in the base version of Anthem are well done. Players may just demand more Javelin-specific storylines.

BioWare will be revealing a lot more information regarding Anthem's Javelins, including abilities and class roles, in the months ahead.

Anthem releases February 22 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
