Anthem has reached its final stretch of development before it launches in late February. Between now and launch, BioWare's schedule is full of demos and early access periods, which means that if BioWare is going to start a flurry of marketing for Anthem, there's no better time than now. And so it's started. Today BioWare released a lengthy 6+ minute trailer for Anthem breaking down the upcoming online multiplayer game's story, progression, and customization. And there are more trailers to come in the days ahead.

Today's trailer, Part 1 of a "This is Anthem" series of videos, won't surprise many who have been following Anthem's development over the past several months. This new video serves more like a recap or summary of the trailers and livestreams that BioWare has released and hosted recently. That said, it's a lot of ground to cover so even fans that have been closely following Anthem may hear something they'd previously missed.

Also, while the new trailer doesn't necessarily break any news, it does offer plenty of new gameplay to pore over. In fact, the gameplay from this video looks like it's either from a more recent build or perhaps even the final release version of the game than most media previously released. Or in other words, this trailer features some of the most impressive visuals yet shown of Anthem. Anthem may not have gone gold yet, but it definitely looks closer than ever.

Part 2 of the "This is Anthem" video series should be forthcoming, hopefully in the next few days. According to BioWare the second part of the series will focus on two core aspects of Anthem: the endgame, including a look at Strongholds, and Anthem's "expanding shared world," which could mean BioWare's plans for the game post-launch. While endgame has been touched on in discussions, BioWare has been remiss to show off actual endgame content. So the next This is Anthem video should have a lot of exciting new information to share.

Keep in mind that there are opportunities to try out Anthem coming up soon. The game's demo will be open to VIP players (pre-orderers and EA Access/Origin Access subscribers) between Jan. 25 and 27, followed by an open demo available to everyone interested between Feb. 1 and 3. The demos will work on all platforms. And for those who already know they're buying Anthem and want to play the full game as soon as possible,  EA Access and Origin Access (time-limited for Basic) subscribers can start playing a week early on February 22.

Anthem releases February 22 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
