Ever since E3 2018, more and more information concerning Bioware's upcoming online multiplayer action RPG, Anthem, has been revealed, with a major source of information being the game's executive producer Mark Darrah. For example, it was Darrah who recently clarified that Javelins do not have separate skill trees, with that actually dependent upon the player's Freelancer level. Now, during another Q&A, Darrah revealed something interesting about large player groups.

Anthemas an online RPG, will see players team up in groups of up to 4 to complete objectives throughout the game, though it is possible to beat the game solo. Those who were hoping that some content might support more than 4 players, however, are out of luck, at least at launch. Of course, considering this wasn't an absolute no, it'll be interesting to see what Anthem offers its larger groups of players in the future.

After all, we know that the game's missions are centered around four players, so it makes sense that large groups, as well as solo players, would see some offset. However, as indicated by Darrah, it seems like something that can be changed after launch. Check out the original question and Darrah's response below:

Other details revealed by Darrah in this Q&A are that, while players begin with the Ranger Javelin, the order in which they are unlocked after isn't set in stone. To regenerate health, players need drops, but the shield does regenerate automatically. There will also be an end of mission stat screen, so players can know how exactly they contributed to the fight.

With over half a year until launch, hopefully more information continues to trickle out. Notably, EA is pleased with "the excitement building for Anthem" and is looking forward to sharing more about the game in the future "including [a] pre-launch opportunity to jump into the game," which is something we here at Game Rant believe could ramp up the hype surrounding the game.

Anthem is currently scheduled to release on February 22, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
