Almost everyone can agree that the best part of a pre-order isn’t the ability to reserve the game, it’s the bonuses that are meant to entice you into doing so. Some are standard with all pre-orders, while others are offered exclusively through certain outlets. To that end, GameStop recently announced what it's offering to those who invest in Anthem early through its stores.

Depending on which edition of Anthem consumers decide to pre-order, they'll receive a specific selection of goodies in appreciation, but GameStop is the only place to receive an exclusive skin called Edge of Resolve Vinyl, which will likely apply to any Javelin class.

Customization is a huge draw for gamers, especially in multiplayer games, where standing out and looking fly is of utmost importance. BioWare, a veteran in the RPG genre, knows this well, and has implemented an extensive customization system within Anthem.

A recent livestream demonstrated many of the customization options available to players, who can change the appearance of various armor parts, the wear state of the armor, animations, and vinyls - like the one included in the GameStop pre-order. It's more than just a splash of color here and there. Players can actually change how light reflects off of armor, or even the type of materials and patterns on it. All of these options allow for some highly detailed and unique looks.

On the subject of pre-orders, it was announced recently that there would be no Season Pass for Anthem. These have become a standard with many titles, and are typically packaged together with other bonuses for those who pre-order. However, two weeks ago, lead producer Michael Gamble said a Season Pass wasn't in the cards, even adding that players should "Just get the game," instead of worrying about what's around the corner.

According to Gamble, anyone who purchases Anthem will be able to enjoy all the content the game has to offer. Anyone worried about post-launch DLC need not worry, as BioWare has also promised that future story DLC will be completely free.

Anthem releases February 22, 2019, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
