Without a doubt, Anthem hopefuls have been bombarding the developer BioWare with tons of questions for some time now, with the developers recently confirming that a DLC region was currently in the works. That said, many questions were not answered and instead met with an ambiguous "not at launch" answer.

This answer could be interpreted in a number of ways, as game development is by no means as simple as adding a new feature. But since the developers were reluctant to rule out these items with a definitive no, there is a possibility of these requests coming to Anthem some day. It's worth reiterating that there is no guarantee that these will ever actually come to BioWare's latest action RPG, but neither have they received a hard no from the developer.

Thanks to Redditor Blank-VII, here is an extensive list of heavily requested Anthem features that BioWare gave an ambiguous answer to:

  • Photo Mode
  • The ability to get into other players' suits
  • Changing a character's look after character creation
  • PvP
  • Cross-Platform
  • Emblems for Javelins
  • Carry progress between platforms
  • New Ultimates for Javelins
  • "Crazy" Sci-Fi/Alien weapons
  • Freeplay waypoints
  • Total State Value meter
  • DPS meter
  • Re-rolling stats on gear
  • More difficulty levels
  • Inspect player menu
  • More Javelins after launch
  • Custom thruster colors
  • Custom javelin lights
  • Custom element color
  • 60 fps and FOV slider for consoles
  • Teammate Ultimate indicator
  • The ability to change builds while on mission
  • Robin Hood-style Bows
  • New weather dynamics
  • More Javelin abilities
  • Drop protection for RNG

Of course, there are probably features that will come to Anthem not mentioned here, as well as some that are planned but might not make the cut. Considering this action RPG is utilizing a live service model, it's likely that many changes will come over the course of its lifetime.

Taking this all into consideration, it seems likely BioWare takes adding more to Anthem one step at a time. After all, while many of these requests would be good quality-of-life improvements, changes that should be available at launch are likely taking the fore, with the recent confirmation of sprinting in Fort Tarsis being a prime example.

Anthem is scheduled to release on February 22, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
