The Anthem VIP Demo is right around the corner, and the game just went gold, but developer BioWare is still letting details drop about the upcoming game. BioWare's Michael Gamble has revealed that Anthem will contain a 16-player social hub called the Launch Bay.

Prior to this announcement, it appears that BioWare was not planning on including a social hub in the game, but after players expressed interest in having one in the game, Launch Bay came to be as a result. Gamble says that Launch Bay will be located in the game's main city of Fort Tarsis. BioWare has shown off Tarsis before as the main hub where players can head to after missions to interact with NPCs, collect contracts, and more; but now the possibilities of the hub city of Fort Tarsis look to be that much greater with the addition of the ability to interact with up to 15 other players in the social space.

The Launch Bay will be in the game at launch, but don't expect it when the VIP and open demos of Anthem are released. Gamble says BioWare is disabling Launch Bay in the demo, saying the developer has "gotta save some stuff for [February] 22 after all".

Gamble also tweeted that this pre-launch announcement about Launch Bay is an example of how responsive BioWare will be after the launch of Anthem as well. He wants to make it clear that the developer is taking an open-door approach with fans, actively communicating with them about what's coming up with the game and even making design decisions based on player feedback.

The Anthem VIP Demo kicks off January 25 and goes until January 27, and the public demo runs from February 1 to February 3. That's the next step for BioWare's next big game as it marches towards a February 22 launch date.

Anthem releases on February 22, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
