Anthem's game director, Jonathan Warner, recently confirmed that information regarding the game's planned pre-launch demo is "coming soon." With Anthem's February 2019 release date still months away, it was unclear whether or not information regarding the demo would be shared anytime soon, but Warner insinuated that BioWare and EA will be talking about the Anthem demo sooner rather than later.

Very little is known regarding the planned Anthem pre-launch demo at this point, which is likely why fans are so excited about more information. Anthem's executive producer Mark Darrah recently commented that he was hopeful the demo would feature all of the game's four Javelin classes, for example. Concrete details on both the demo's content and its likely release date are hopefully part of what's "coming soon."

The last bit of information confirmed regarding the pre-launch demo is that any progression made within the demo will not carry over into Anthem's full launch. Darrah says, "We want the flexibility to adjust," which could imply that the demo will be coming out well before launch. Either way, the decision is the norm for online games like Anthem.

Questions regarding Anthem's demo, beta, and early access have reached a peak over the past week due to confusion regarding each's availability through different types of pre-orders and subscriptions. Regarding the pre-launch demo specifically, it will be available for everyone who pre-orders Anthem. The demo should also be available to subscribers of EA and Origin Access, though that can't be said with absolute certainty.

No information regarding any potential closed or open beta for Anthem has yet to be announced. And details regarding Early Access are dependent on which platform players will be choosing. What's important is understanding the difference between the three. The demo will be a standalone sample of Anthem exclusive for pre-orderers. A beta is currently unconfirmed and may be unnecessary depending on the scope of the demo. Finally, Early Access is access to the full game with progress carrying over into launch. Jonathan Warner's tease is specifically related to Anthem's demo. Expect more information soon, perhaps at PAX West.

Anthem releases February 22, 2019 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
