It won't be too much longer before certain gamers looking forward to Anthem will be able to give its VIP demo a go, with the trial version of the forthcoming action-RPG shooter set to take place across multiple platforms later this week. In order to prepare players for the action on deck, the game's Executive Producer Mark Darrah recently explained what to expect when it comes to the differences between the demo and the final launch version of the title.

According to Darrah, Anthem's impending demo will start players in the middle of the game, and it won't provide them with any tutorials, nor will it offer a pilot picker that lets one tweak a selected character's facial features. What's more is that the trial run's balance is going to be much different than how the title will play when the full version becomes available, and the final product's economy will be significantly dissimilar to the demo, too. Not to mention, the weeks between the demo and launch day will see BioWare making changes in the way of bug fixes.

In addition to the previously mentioned differences, Anthem's demo will only provide a single story arc, which will cause the "mission/stronghold/freeplay" balance to be somewhat askew, whereas the launch edition of the title will have lots more to do insofar as narrative elements are concerned. Also, those playing the demo on PC would do well to know that the controls will be "slightly less nuanced", with the final version providing a lot more polish in that department.

While some of the details provided by Darrah regarding the differences between Anthem's demo and its final release will likely be obvious to many, it's good to see that he and BioWare at the very least decided to provide a solid set of expectations so as to mitigate any potential player disappointment. So, taking everything here into consideration, it will be interesting to see just how players react to the content on-hand in the game's upcoming VIP demo once it goes live.

Anthem is scheduled to release on February 22, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
